Failed miserably at biology at school, but have since done a GCSE in my own time - I just got my result today and I got an 8 (an A in old money). I feel sure there must be some mistake, but I am so thrilled!

Aww, well done OP!! That’s amazing! Good for you.

ClawedButler · 03/03/2023 09:23

I did biology because I thought it might help me in the line of work I've fallen into, and it absolutely has helped me understand a lot more.

Prosecco might have been consumed last night. Had to go out to buy some coz I didn't expect to be celebrating!

We had some cava last night and I raised a glass to you and your achievement!

Well done!
I guess you did one of the January iGCSEs, as the results were yesterday. I hadn't realised they'd gone over to numbers, last I heard they were holding out with letters.

How long were you studying for?

Treaclehair · 03/03/2023 16:54

I was interested which exam it was too! Well done!

BraveGoldie · 04/03/2023 08:56

Well done OP!!!

That's such an awesome thing to do and a brilliant result!

Cheered my day up too! I'm happy for you!

Chicaontour · 04/03/2023 08:59

I failed my A levels disastrously (twice) when I was 17 and 18. Then I went back to college in my thirties and ended up with 2 As and a B (sorry no idea what that is nowadays). I then went on to do an HND and finally a degree. I think some of us just need to grow up and realise why we want to study before we can do well. Congratulations OP. Well done!

Treaclehair · 04/03/2023 09:08

It’s absolutely brilliant, it’s just really confusing.

As said above, it was the January igcses that came out on this date, but they aren’t graded in numbers.
