Or an actual whip?

An actual whip

blackwych · 01/03/2023 21:34

Yes, Gavin. I do just hate work. That's why I'm marking English at half past nine at night.

PermanentTemporary · 01/03/2023 21:36

'Oh these civil servants are so slow, ill just chuck money at anyone i like, what could go wrong'

'I think I'll snog another woman at my security-conscious government workplace, what could go wrong'

'I think ill make some money by taking several weeks off my paid job and going on reality TV, what could go wrong'

'This notorious scandalmonger, famous for not protecting her sources, and wife of a political opponent is willing to write about my life story, better give her all the compromising information I can'

I mean. What an absolute idiot.

MisschiefMaker · 01/03/2023 21:38

@DevantMaJardin plenty of young healthy female teachers were at lower risk than the general population who wanted to go back to work, yet they thought they should have the right to stay home at everyone else's expense. They had no leg to stand on.

And now they want more money from the private sector, despite their efforts to hinder the return to normality.

That's fine, of course, we can all advocate for our own self interest at the expense of others but don't try to take the moral high ground or play the victim, which is generally how unions attack!

JudesBiggestFan · 01/03/2023 21:41

I think there needs to be a mea culpa from teachers on this. It does seem the government wanted children back in school more than teachers did. And when teachers must have known just how vulnerable children must be suffering in lockdown...I find it very, very hard to excuse. For the first six weeks maybe, but it rapidly became evident that teachers and pupils weren't at any significant risk of serious illness or death from the virus. It was mass hysteria and over anxiety. The government's worst mistakes were in giving in to this rather than telling people to keep calm and carry on. I work for the police and we worked throughout, so my children were in school. To this date none of us have had covid. At my workplace, only one person has died of covid (I work in HR so know). The world honestly went mad. Looking at these messages gives me a mix of rage and sorrow...so much lost by so many, based on such little evidence.

Unfortunately the unions didn't exactly cover themselves in glory during the pandemic. They've damaged the reputation of the teaching profession in many peoples eyes.

Yes.

noblegiraffe · 01/03/2023 21:43

Actual whip photo.

In the background there is utter chaos over A-level results.

The notebook on the whip represents the secrets that Gav has on Boris from his time as Chief Whip and is a threat to Boris not to sack him over his utter incompetence.

Gavin is now, of course, Sir Gavin Williamson.

Well quite a large section of society think the same when strikes happen. So what! Large parts of the population want unions to disappear do you say the same about all of these people to.

MadameMatisse · 01/03/2023 21:50

They are a bunch of arses. They've been offered 6 % this year and 5% next year and they are refusing. This is on top of the increases last year.

GuyFawkesDay · 01/03/2023 21:51

Who's been offered 6% and 5% cos it isn't teachers!

Many people? Like who, exactly?

Moonshine86 · 01/03/2023 21:57

The pandemic was hard for everybody. Every single person would have been affected one way or another. Teachers still had a job to do (with children at home in many cases) yet the lazy can’t be bothered rhetoric is still evident. Reading this tonight is saddening and although not entirely surprising I feel really disappointed. It won’t be long until we read a leaked message about other professions… lazy the lot of us. More than ever I feel so grateful to be part of a union.

Can't believe 19% of votes say YABU, that's how these tossers keep getting in!

YANBU.

The tories all think every worker is lazy, yet they're the ones filmed sleeping or absent without leave!

Moonshine86 · 01/03/2023 22:00

Should we be united in fair pay? Or against professions for making a stand? Are we for the Government or for the people? Solidarity needed more than ever. Very sad to think people agree with the comments made by Hancock and Gav.

I'm glad I'm out of teaching, like thousands of others. Sick of being told how workshy etc I am. Fuck. Off.

And yes, I've worked in the private sector before. It's easier.

Moonshine86 · 01/03/2023 22:02

Indeed. Teachers reading the thread this evening, perhaps we should work to rule and then the public would be able to see how lazy teachers really are.

The whole private sector is easier? Wow you've had a lot of jobs.

Xol · 01/03/2023 22:02

Wow. Teachers at the school where I'm a governor worked their butts off producing online materials, teaching online, organising and marking homework, keeping in touch with families, and working with the children who were going into school. Meanwhile Hancock was busy snogging his mistress, failing to protect care homes, making money for himself and his mates, and slagging off those teachers. What a total arsehole.

lenalemonade · 01/03/2023 22:03

My sentiments exactly

Moonshine86 · 01/03/2023 22:03

personally I don’t! because I LOVE my job. I don’t think IABU to feel saddened to read the comment this evening.

OP posts:
GuyFawkesDay · 01/03/2023 22:04

I've worked in private sector (financial services, and others) and taught.

So I can speak with more authority about hard working teachers than you can, for a start, you condescending twit.

Yulelogs · 01/03/2023 22:05

Yanbu unless you didn’t realise it before! He makes my skin crawl but when it comes to private texts I don’t care what he says. They’re private. I bet Labour and all other politicians think and write the same shit about issues like this.

Moonshine86 · 01/03/2023 22:06

20% have voted IABU. In agreement with the comments from Hancock and Gavin. Lazy teachers. Shame on us.

I really hope you're not a teacher with that language and attitude.
