Eye Colour disagreement

I (brown eyes) think our son has green eyes.

Blue eyed husband thinks they are brown.

In the sunlight they are grey on the outside, brown in the middle.

What do you think?

Same here! 3 grandparents with blue eyes, one brown. Always imagined having a kid with eyes like mine because brown is dominant. Genetics is so fascinating! I am pregnant with number two so I wonder what eyes the next one will have

I have brown eyes but with flecks of green, in different lighting they can look darker or lighter. My niece has ended up the same.

Another vote for Hazel, greeny brown.

Hazel seems to be the most popular opinion. I always imagined hazel being more brown but it makes sense to be a mixture of colours!

I think green or green hazel, I find the comparison pictures between green and green hazel so similar I can't really tell the difference. They aren't brown though, even though there is brown around the pupil.

It mostly does. But there is more than one gene that affects eye colour.

The outside is green and the inside is brown. The green is less pronounced and becomes brown the closer you look to the pupil. Technically he has green/brown eyes. Technically you're both right.

Photos are not that clear but could it be central heterochromia? DS has it, it's nothing sinister just one colour in the middle and another around the outside.

Hazel (mix of brown and green)

Brown eye colour isn't necessarily dominant and depending on recessive genes, it's even possible for two brown eyed parents to have a blue-eyed child. I have brown eyes and DH had blue, (mother hazel and father blue). DS has pale green eyes and DD has hazel eyes that are slightly darker green with flecks of brown. My maternal GF had hazel eyes so I might have some recessive green eye genes.
I would say your DC has hazel eyes.

quite a lot like his eyes in the sunlight. Thanks for all the input, I think we can reach a compromise and say his eyes are hazel 😆
