I think some people think us over 50s should dress like the golden girls!

Wear it and be fabulous.

The jumpsuit is gorgeous ! 50 is not too old to wear it. I’m 47 and have a full length sequin catsuit - I get so many compliments.

I wouldn’t get the shoes though. They are ageing! You can still get heels, but get an ankle boot, or a pair of those barely there’ sandals from the 90’s (which are back in).

Or a pair of stilettos in cobalt blue, or bright pink!

I didn't say you did. I said that IMO only someone in extreme youth could get away with this one. That does not imply that women only fall into two catagories a) extremely young or b) crones. Don't be daft.

Can I come to your birthday? I have several wildly inappropriate outfits that apparently dont suit my age or size but I dont give a rats ass! I am prone to strategic chundering though if I drink to much but am great at stiletto based injuries, getting and treating 😁😁😁🥂

Haven’t read every page… the playsuit is fabulous, the shoes however are hideously and look tacky and clunky, they will add 10 years to your look please 🙏🏻 don’t wear them. HBD!

Thanks all, even the not so nice comments, as it has given me food for thought about what I may encounter out and about in this outfit. I will post a pic soon, probably not tomorrow as it turns out but soon and then you can really tear me to bits if thats what floats your boat.

Really all I want to know is, should I wear it when I celebrate turning 50. A yes or no is all that is required! I am not fishing for compliments, but equally I am not posting expecting bitchy comments either. If you think i will look like shit, I can take that with a straight "You are too old in my opinion", no need to be nasty.

I think it would probably be a better shout with flats. Not because of anything to do with your legs or age but because they are a lot more practical and no one wants to spend a big birthday worrying about sprained ankles, accidental cleavage flashing, etc. when they should be focusing on having fun. I'd also look at a popper for the cleavage to keep it closed.

If you're also planning to channel your inner Kylie may I recommend Danni's line project d? They stopped selling it a while ago but you can pick up gorgeous sequinned numbers online pretty easily and if they're good enough for the minogues...
