Calling all Violet’s / mothers of Violet’s

i had a DD recently and called her Violet. I have struggled since with the name - I like it myself but I worry my lovely DD will be bullied because of a name I gave her - I think this was triggered by a thread I read on mumsnet saying it’s like violent / vile. I’m tying myself in knots worrying I’ve ruined her life and it’ll be all my fault. I’m also in Northern Ireland and the name isn’t as popular here as the U.K. and I worry about regional pronunciation.

if you have a Violet in their teens / are an adult Violet have you been name called or bullied because of your name?

I guess as it’s AIBU (although I’m mainly posting for traffic) AIBU about my babies name.

My teenager dd is called Violet and Letty for short. No issues for her whatsoever

My great grandmother was violet. Apparently she was violent and was nicknamed such. However the name is absolutely beautiful don't second guess yourself - there are so many odd names out there, violet isn't one of them imo. 💜

Mother was a Violet, she became Vi as she got older

I have a Violet, I dont think I have ever seen anyone have a negative opinion on the name.

My grandmother was a Violet, she insisted it was pronounced VEE-oh-let

It’s a nice name. Nowadays with so many foreign, unique, cultural and unusual names bullying for a name is quite rare. I work in schools and there’s far far worse names than violet. Please don’t worry.
