MIL is already on her third plan for xmas this year. AIBU saying no, we’re doing xmas at home, she can join but not hosting

Just say that now your DD is getting bigger it's important to you that she spends it in her own home, but that she's welcome to join you.

Christmas with an overwhelmed 2 year old can be hard work and you wouldn't want to wreck her party, so you're keeping it low key.

Be straight with her now and then she's got 10 months to get her sulking over and done with.

Christmas evolves as families change. She needs to understand that.

He's really not, you know @Isthistherealworld. He has a wife and a child, so doing what's best for them is what he needs to do. His mother is welcome to join you all, that covers his responsibility to her. It does no extend to doing exactly what she wants.
