Thank the Lord about time.

Hoisted by her own insistence on supporting a minority and throwing women under the bus.

A good day for women everywhere but especially Scotland

Why is being Tory or any of the other things you list something that one needs to be accussed of @Rainbowshit presumably you are proud of your beliefts and would welcome others understanding them?

I am. You can check my posting history although I have name changed a few times since indyref. Coming up for a decade of being called a Tory and still going. 😉 I don't hold back. It's only people like you that think we're going to shut up on such accusation. Not happening pall.

Just to be clear @Rainbowshit are you saying you are proud of being a Tory?

Rainbowshit · 16/02/2023 12:37

I've never voted Tory although I have considered it several times. I don't consider it the insult you seem to. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rainbowshit · 16/02/2023 12:40

The point that you seem to be missing is that people like you just tend to label anything you disagree with as Tory or far right despite evidence to the contrary. And that like the word transphobia, they've been overused to the point that it's now meaningless and ineffective and does nothing to change anyone's mind.

It didn't work at indyref and it's not working on gender ideology issues either.

Quite the reverse. If I had voted Tory in recent years I would be proud of the Tory parties record in governemnt. They have achieved much, high levels of poverty, particularly in work poverty, a massive erosion of human rights, a reduction in economic output that has rarely occured on such a scale in peacetime, trade barriers with our nearest neighbours, strikes across huge and diverse areas of work, public services that are so underfunded they barely exist and apparently Boris from personal experience knows what a woman is.

Current evidence is that there are precious few Tories around anymore, such that some analysis suggests that the SNP may be the second party in Westminster after the next General Election.

Was the case of the two women on public transport who were attacked by some thugs too long ago for you to Recall?

If you think that two women would be any safer on a bus in Scotland you're in for a shock.
Sturgeon may have attempted to push a particular vision but the reality on the ground in much of the central belt is very different indeed.

WaitingRoomBoredom · 16/02/2023 14:04

Huge loss - she's been holding the UK govt to account far better than the actual opposition in this parliament.

FrostyFifi · 16/02/2023 14:06

How has she, seeing as she's not actually present in Westminster?

WaitingRoomBoredom · 16/02/2023 14:08

You don't need to be in the same debating chamber to call them to account.

FrostyFifi · 16/02/2023 14:26

How do you think she actually did so, out of interest?

jgw1 · 16/02/2023 14:42

FrostyFifi · 16/02/2023 14:26

How do you think she actually did so, out of interest?

By being competent, decent and knowing what she was talking about.

Unfortunately being a woman she didn't know what a woman was.

FrostyFifi · 16/02/2023 14:48

Scotland presently feels nothing like a competently-run country. The police investigation into campaign funds does not speak of decency.
So I'm still not seeing how anyone was held to account.

Except that's not barely true.

I'd look at her tenure it's a shame she hasn't been held to account.

The main reason I say the best argument against Scottish independence is the SNP is because of their poor record in government in Scotland. Just because the Tories in Westminster are worse does not excuse this.

Is that why since the SNP have been in government in Scotland, they and independence have become dramatically less popular?

The best argument for independence for Scotland is the Tories in Westminster. It is widely assumed that the popularity of independence will wane once Starmer is Prime Minister.
