So scared right now and don't know what to do. Had heartburn feeling all night and tickly throat and kept dry heaving. I've also had runny stools (sorry if TMI), don't know if they are connected.

However just been sick bright red blood Sad

Wtf do I? I didn't feel unwell or anything, just the heartburn but seeing the blood has scared me

If you're not prepared to go to A&E, then get off MN and ring 111

It's probably a small tear in the stomach lining from being so sick but it might not be.

And you don't know you'll be hours in A&E- they triage

Aldisfinest · 09/02/2023 00:24

Don't worry, happened to my daughter out of nowhere once. I panicked and took her to A&E, they assumed it was from where she's been heaving which caused the bleeding. Gave us the all clear to come home, this was now 3 years ago. She's fine. It's more than likely nothing serious but it's good you're getting it checked out.

I'm so worried Sad

Well go to A&E then.

This is just ridiculous. If you are genuinely worried, go and seek medical advice.

Ambulance has been called

Good.

Good luck op, let us know how you get on.

Pack an overnight bag with essentials too.

Salome61 · 09/02/2023 00:41

Good luck OP, I hope you don't have to wait too long.

hailer · 09/02/2023 00:44

@DontMakeMeShushYou
Sometimes you need a bit of support to call the ambulance. It's not bad it's just someone being human , asking for support. This chat could be the difference of someone getting help, or being too scared to call alone, just be a friend. Then hopefully tomorrow OP will come back to say everything is fine. We all need people on our side

redfob · 09/02/2023 00:46

Posting here just to distract myself, I'm shaking so much. I overthink everything and think the worst case scenario all the time. I have young DC and I'm terrified of something happening to me.

I'm hoping it's nothing. I feel fine mostly but still feel really nauseous. Never had this before Sad

OP posts:
Emmmie · 09/02/2023 00:47

Good luck OP! I hope it's nothing serious.

Ruth990 · 09/02/2023 00:48

@hailer Well said!
I hope it's nothing serious OP and you get the all clear ❤️ x

2018SoFarSoGreat · 09/02/2023 00:50

I'll sit with you and hold your hand for now, @redfob

Just try to relax. Remember, you don't feel terrible, and whatever it is will be looked at very soon. They will know what is needed, and do it. You're in good hands - almost.

The feeling nauseous is probably panic - I get that too. I swear I can talk my blood pressure up to sky high when I get in a panic. It is quite normal.

Why don't you put something on tv while you wait? Or put some nice music on. Just to keep your brain engaged a wee bit while you wait.

redfob · 09/02/2023 00:53

@2018SoFarSoGreat Thank you Flowers hoping the ambulance will arrive soon, waiting makes me feel worse

OP posts:
Fraaahnces · 09/02/2023 00:54

Blood in your belly will make you nauseous. I’m pleased you’re going to hospital to be checked out. You might have an ulcerative condition or a wee tear in your throat or digestive tract. I hope you get it sorted asap.

redfob · 09/02/2023 00:17

I feel ok now though so I don't want to go A&E right now as I know I'll be waiting hours. Anybody know if it could be heartburn related? Just trying to think of what it could be

You need medical advice not Mumsnet Advice, ring Out of Hours who will signpost you to the right help.

SantaBakula · 09/02/2023 01:13

If I vomit there is often a tinge of blood in my spit when I dry heave .but I understand your anxiety
I hope you get seen soon.

Tinysoxxx · 09/02/2023 01:21

Hi OP
to distract yourself get a phone charger ready and a few clothes, especially ones you can roll the sleeves up, toothbrush and paste, deodorant, notepad and pen, water bottle, any meds you take just in case you have to stay in. Have you got someone to take the kids if need be?
Also download some programmes or music on to your phone. WiFi shocking in hospital and lots of doing nothing.
Hope you feel much better by tomorrow.

redfob · 09/02/2023 01:29

Waiting for a taxi to A&E Sad not looking forward to the waiting around, so wanted to avoid this.

thaegumathteth · 09/02/2023 01:32

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 09/02/2023 01:34

Hope it turns out to be nothing much OP - better to know for sure either way.

Dartmoorcheffy · 09/02/2023 01:35

I thought an ambulance was on its way?

redfob · 09/02/2023 01:36

@Dartmoorcheffy a triage nurse called and said she didn't think it would warrant an ambulance so they've sent a taxi instead as I can't get there any other way, didn't even know this was a thing tbh

OP posts:
MrsDrSpencerReid · 09/02/2023 01:42

If it helps I used to vomit blood during both of my pregnancies. Sat in A&E for 4 hours one time without being seen as I kept getting bumped (rightly so!) for bigger emergencies. I figured if they weren’t worried enough to push me through then I didn’t need to be there so DH took me home.

I had hyperemesis so was vomiting a LOT and also had horrendous heartburn.

Hopefully it’s just something like that and nothing more serious. I hope you get seen quickly, you’re doing the right thing x
