Been on a great night out with some people from work. Everyone having a laugh. Some guy (not from our party) being a general nuisance, trying it on with everyone in our group, male and female. After several polite push backs I'd had enough and basically told him to get off me, to which he responded "don't give me attitude, fatty"

I instantly felt so fucking sad. I am overweight. I know I am. I try and exercise when I can, eat healthy etc but yes I'm bigger than I'd like to be. Totally ruined my night so I've just come home and cried.

Not really sure why I'm posting, how do you handle when someone is so hurtful about something you hate about yourself already?!

Yes you might be fat but you can lose weight. He however, will always be a cunt.

And remember, he had been rejected multiple times so his only way to save face was to insult someone. All anyone will remember is that he was an utter dick.

Wanker. Men know this word upsets women so it's a default insult whether or not you are overweight. When I was in a job role where I had to take telephone calls from the public, I was sometimes called a 'stupid fat cow' and similar by shouty men - who clearly had no idea what I looked like.🙄

@TheHotdog it's really really not helpful. Try being menopausal with a super slow metabolism, and despite tons of exercise and calorie control you literally cannot shift any meaningful weight. And then tell me in a super patronising way 'only you can change things.'

I'm not particularly attractive and have been called ugly by random men. Used to really hurt obviously. Doesn't happen so often now I'm older and apparently invisible.

But I have been known to reply with " oh no, the old/ugly/fat/bald man ( insert insult if choice here) doesn't fancy me! What will I do?! I know I won't sleep tonight knowing this god among men finds me unattractive!"

They usually slink off whilst calling me a cunt or similar. Tis funny 😁

They call a woman who rejects them either fat, ugly, or a lesbian. It's kind of sad that they're not more imaginative. You could be a size 8-10 and he would still have called you fat to hurt you. Fuck him and all the others like him.
