That's it. That's the post.

After two decades of absolute shite vacs - always purchased by the other resident adult -, now I have an amazing one (and a much, much cleaner house).

This has spurred me on to de-clutter some more and I am really happier about this than I ought to be.

It really does seem to be about the little things these days

I knew you'd say Miele
I have cordless
Love it
Light
Quiet
Can get in all the narrow bits.
Comes apart so we can get all my hair out (I have long hair)

PandasAreUseless · 04/02/2023 18:09

I hear you OP.
We just moved our idiotic turd of a hoover, Henry, into the garage to live out his retirement as a workshop hoover. In the house we now have a Shark and I LOVE it.
No more tipping over ever 5 seconds, with that dumb smirk on his face. Or getting stuck going around a corner. Or breaking my back lugging the fat waste of space up the stairs.

I have a 10 year old corded miele which is still great. Fabulous suction

longtompot · 04/02/2023 18:31

YANBU I luffs my Miele Cat/Dog hoover🥰

I don't luff how much the filter and bags are though💷

Snowfairyxx · 04/02/2023 18:38

I have recently got a miele after my cordless Dyson wasn't doing a great job and started making a lot of strange noises when it wasn't even blocked.
I love the miele, I went for the bagless blizzard cat and dog. It does seem to wrap a lot of hair around the brush. So not sure the best way to remove that yet. Or maybe our carpets are just terrible from the Dyson been rubbish for a while....

Oh yes. The unbridled joy of a new vacuum cleaner!

The motor on the head burnt out on our dyson a couple of years ago and I bought a new shark to replace it. Utter crap, worst thing ive ever wasted money on! Two years later and the part we needed finally got delivered and the old Dyson is back. I did one small patch of carpet and almost fell to my knees like the pope at shrine!

There's nothing like the thrill of a properly clean carpet

This has to be some sort of product placement as I’ve had 2 Dysons and 1 Shark and the Shark beats them both hands down…

It'll be a Hoover Constellation.
I've always wanted one of those, for years and years and years.

A what now?…

SunscreenCentral · 07/02/2023 11:36

Reporting back after my first full weekend playing with the vacuum cleaner (had to go visiting last w/end).

Did you know that Venetian blinds can be successfully cleaned using a Hoover (that actually works unfailingly)

still very happy!

@longtompot I stocked up and got a 3 for 2 deal

I'd love a Miele

Yes I use my Miele on blinds, too. And for dusting with the brush attachment. Bloody love that machine.

TheDogsMother · 07/02/2023 12:06

We also have a Miele Cat and Dog. An old model so it is heavy but unfailingly excellent. Very sadly it has outlived said cats and dog so is having an easy retirement but we may surprise it with another family pet in future.

Congratulations on your new vacuum Flowers

I just checked and they have the c2 for £60. No idea if it's any good but if you want one...I gain nothing from this by the way 😂

uk.reviewclub.com

Thank you for this! It said they were all gone, but I filled out the survey in case a space came up and have now had an email to say I've been selected to trial it! A very welcome surprise. My elderly Cat & Dog will now be put into semi retirement as my work hoover (No more going round on my hands and knees with a dustpan for me!), and the new one will be moved into its new home 😊 Now there's just DH to win over... (he's already concerned we have an overpopulation of hoovers 🙈 different hoovers for different applications! Duh! 🙄)

Baxdream · 07/02/2023 14:42

Ah that's brilliant @SkankingWombat ! Enjoy your new Miele!

Serenity45 · 07/02/2023 15:19

YANBU OP. We had tolerated our mediocre Dyson cordless until we got a dog and realised that actually it was a bit shit. Have a cordless Shark now and the first time he used it on the stair carpet DH came into the bedroom brandishing the full container of fluff like a champion 😁

It did make us realise we had basically been living in filth despite floors looking surface clean though...

TheLastDreamOfTheOak · 07/02/2023 16:26

This thread is timely. My bloody Henry which despite rave reviews I cold never get on with has packed up. I've just volleyed it into the skip and told DH we are getting a new one that actually works.
Sold on your model OP as I feel it must be kismet in terms of timing

Afraid there's a lot of Shark loathing around. We're thinking of giving ours away, dirty, blocky, tiny-containered pile of rubbish that it is.

In fairness if I was going to advertise anything it would be the eufy robot. I think I love that thing more than most members of my family some days, I might take it out for Valentine’s Day and wine and dine it to show my love and affection 💘
