DS going on school trip to mosque.

Mosque is a big one, very wealthy. Don't want to be too outing. But think v ornate, v wealthy, wealthy area etc.

Parents being asked to contribute financially to trip, which includes a payment to the mosque.

I have no issue with laying for bus etc, but I do have an issue paying the mosque! Ffs, it's a PR exercise for the mosque after all isn't it?! just do it, why charge and already strapped primary school?

Miserable bastards. Charging a school to show them inside a mosque?!

And I'd say this if it was a church or temple or Godess knows what! Do churches really charge?!

That to is a really good point...
Come to think of it, I think some of it might be men only.
🤦‍♀️

I really hope that's not something that happens on the trip. Surely not?!?

For the person asking, I could not care less which religion it is. Pls don't suggest this is anti one religion over another. It's not. This trip is to a mosque, however.

FFS, your ignorance is astounding. You have misgivings and misconceptions and have made no effort to try and educate yourself. I stead you're just continuing with wide eyed faux innocence.

Women and girls are allowed inside mosques. The only area that is "men only" is the mens toilets. Men and women pray in separate areas but that doesn't mean they are segregated outside of prayer time and this wouldn't apply to a school trip as they are always scheduled outside of prayer times.

Google exists, FYI.

Exactly.

@Iam4eels that may be true of some mosques, but I myself - astoundingly you nay think! - have been around a mosque (a free visit, would you believe?!) which had a male-only prayer room.

The men, meanwhile, were allowed everywhere.

That pisses me off.

They have male only prayer rooms and many have female only prayer rooms too because men and women don't pray together. Outside of prayer times the spaces are not male only/female only.

I think you may have misunderstood @mumyes. Men don't go into female only areas when women are praying. But the prayer spaces are usually open to anyone, including tour groups, between prayers.

Yeah it’s interesting that you’ve picked up on this, wasn’t there a guy making a big fuss about this a while back, can’t remember his name exactly. Markin Luthier? Marty Louther? Something like that.

The OP literally called the Muslims running the mosque miserable bastards in the first post. If you didn't realise that, and thus didn't see the point of my post, then you're very much part of the problem.

So the best way of countering what the OP said is by saying the same thing about another religion? Isn't that ironically a bit eye for an eye?
