Wtf is this on his foot?!

What is this on my 6 year old’s foot?! If I ring the docs I probably won’t be able to get him seen until June or something as it’s not an emergency! The heel is really rough, he said it doesn’t hurt but it’s itchy. The other bit further up his foot is painful, it’s really raised and yellow?! From Googling the closest thing I can find that resembles it is a corn?! Any feet specialists about? 🙈😂

Verruca?

DeadDonkey · 01/02/2023 20:21

Mid foot looks a verrucae - heel looks very dry, hard to tell from a photo but the colour suggests there could be a fungal infection there too. Any sign of athletes foot between the toes?

RicherThanYews · 01/02/2023 20:21

Small yellow round thing looks a verucca but the patch on the heel looks like plant life ... is he behaving a bit odd? Mentioning a craving for brains? 😄

FindingMyselfIn2023 · 01/02/2023 20:21

The little one looks like a verruca.

The big patch needs some heel cream badly, that'll start getting sore I think.

Uppingham · 01/02/2023 20:21

The circle is a verruca. Treat with bazooka gel (if he is old enough). The scaley patch I don’t know. Show the pharmacist.

Blanketpolicy · 01/02/2023 20:22

Try a pharmacist for advice before trying to get a Dr appointment.

Wombatbum · 01/02/2023 20:25

I thought verruca but no dot and there’s like a circular thing on the end of it! It’s weird! When he had a bath the heel looks like it needs filing with a pumice stone or something but I don’t want to hurt him. His feet are really peely up near his toes, doesn’t seem like athletes foot though. I think he wears socks too much, he’s hardly ever barefoot.

Discoid eczema, impetignised eczema, psoriasis? Looks like there's more verrucae to the top left

dollyblack · 01/02/2023 20:27

The big scaly patch looks like a cluster of verruccas to me- you can see all the black dots. i had this and it was a nightmare to get rid of, in the end it just went away on its own almost overnight which was weird.

definitely get it checked out.

GreenBiscuitr · 01/02/2023 20:27

Peely by toes definitely sounds like athetes foot

DeadDonkey · 01/02/2023 20:29

Agree. That sounds exactly like athletes foot.

featherlampshade · 01/02/2023 20:29

Get him seen by a podiatrist, instead of a GP

DeadDonkey · 01/02/2023 20:30

A verruca doesn’t have to have a black dot.

BlessedBeTheFruitShoots · 01/02/2023 20:34

Pompholyx eczema is my (non expert) opinion. I get it on heels & between toes. Itchy blisters that crust and then peel. Asking the pharmacist is a good shout.

HR313 · 01/02/2023 20:35

Looks like a mosaic verrucae… they tend to form a large clump. I had one, not as painful as the bog standard verrucae I had on my heel 😬

^this. They are very knowledgeable and will be able to recommend the correct products to use.

Wombatbum · 01/02/2023 20:36

I wear socks all the time and my feet don’t look that bad 🤣

Tinyant · 01/02/2023 20:37

Verrucas
that big patch could also be a big clump of them

Those tiny things are just little red spots at the moment! I’ve no idea where he’s got them from nobody else in the household has any and he hasn’t been swimming since September and these have only appeared in the last few weeks

I just feel like he should let his skin breathe a bit 😂

Combination of verucas and fungal infection. Treat with antifungal spray OTC, verucas can be treated but they will heal on their own, immune system will fight them off eventually

Popskipiekin · 01/02/2023 20:57

I have found our local podiatrist a godsend for strange ongoing foot issues. Would really recommend if you have one. Yes there is a cost attached … maybe if the pharmacist doesn’t sort things?

I wouldn’t be surprised if they also turn in to veruccas. Maybe PE/soft play if he’s been anywhere with no socks on?
