AIBU to think that the boy, horse mole fox thing is cliched dull and totally over rated

I also think things about stuff.

Same. I feel it’s over rated, thinking.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2023 22:42

Did you lose the will to live before you wrote the complete title ? Was the programme that boring ? Grin

I did click thinking it was about a horse , an unreasonable horse maybe ?

Slopes off

WarningToTheCurious · 28/01/2023 22:43

Horses aren’t unreasonable.

Cats, on the other hand …

Yanbu. I'm fed up with it and I haven't even seen it.

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 28/01/2023 22:47

I liked the animation and music but the quotes were like bad greetings cards

Sukisal · 28/01/2023 22:49

Isn’t it wonderful, that in 2023, there’s a whole plethora of channels and programmes you can watch at the touch of a button? Or indeed, not watch.

SarahAndQuack · 28/01/2023 22:52

I'm not a fan. The 'cutesy' writing gets on my nerves - I'm dyslexic and it's practically impossible to read, as it is for children. Very style over substance. I'm also annoyed that it's become a default 'meaningful' gift. I've not read it cover to cover (because: dyslexic), but DD was given it as a present, and every time I open it, it makes me feel faintly sick.

My feelings about it pretty much chime in with Dorothy Parker's review of 'The House at Pooh Corner'. www.newyorker.com/magazine/1928/10/20/far-from-well

lemondrizzl · 28/01/2023 22:54

Yes thank goodness for all those channels.
And it being ok to think things 🤣

It just seems to crop up everywhere. Maybe some random algorithm is making it seem like I'd like the bloody horse.

I've just made it worse haven't I

I liked the film but also dyslexic and I can't read the book. Like literally cannot read it. It might as well be in a different language.

After the way mine behaved today over a drain she’s seen 470 times before…I would beg to differ about the unreasonableness of horses 😂

Also thought this was about an unreasonable horse. I know a lot of these so came here in solidarity 😆

Cats are always unreasonable. It’s just how they are.

Hollyhocksauce · 28/01/2023 23:08

I don't understand what it is really. I keep seeing it everywhere but I haven't been bothered enough to find out. I doesn't do anything for me personally.

Nosecan · 28/01/2023 23:10

I like horses, and other animals.

xPissflapsx · 28/01/2023 23:14

I was hoping for an unreasonable man hung like a horse.....

She's a mare. She has OPINIONS.

sequin2000 · 28/01/2023 23:23

Am I alone in not being able to get over the inappropriate clothing? I couldn't watch the film as I was so worried about the boy getting hypothermia!

If you looked up the word "Unreasonable" in an encyclopedia you would see a photo of my two cats .

They sleep all day
They like a quick squabble and run round the house about 19.00
They demand breakfast ,supper and Dreamies to be delivered at the prescribed time .
They don't like cuddles but like being with us .
He walks in from a garden with good scratching trees , past 2 cat scratching post cat tree thingies (taking up half the room) to apply his claws to the new sofa.
She sleeps where she likes - my chair, clean towels , on the stairs to trip me up and make it look like a terribe accident .
I chose them from Rescue , they go out of their way to remind me they wouldn't have chsen me .
Good job we all love these little horrors Wink

Unreasonable , thy name is "Cats"

OldTinHat · 28/01/2023 23:39

The what now????

Now what have I missed...?!

BMW6 · 28/01/2023 23:43

Boring pile of pretentious tripe.

Heyjoewhatsup · 28/01/2023 23:45

The author has a lot of friends in high places including some involved in this film. I do quite like that this was actually made… shows how far we’ve come. But I think there’s so much more untapped out there on these sort of topics. It’s essentially a rediscovery of stoicism long overdue.

However, when I feel a slight cringe at some of the phrases…. I remind myself of how many lives he has probably saved. And for that Charlie Mackesey is a hero. That’s all that matters really.

nopenotplaying · 28/01/2023 23:50

I would recommend this alternative. The panda, the cat and the dreadful teddy 🤣
