To feel sorry for Brooklyn Beckham?

I just do feel a bit sorry for him. He's completely out of touch with the real world obviously, but he's so young and so gormless. But seems so determined to be famous in his own right, despite no specialist skill set. I wonder do famous parents ever encourage their children to go to uni and get a real job? Or is that not an option? There are plenty of fulfilling jobs he could do, teaching, nursing, even volunteering ( as he clearly doesn't need the money)
I feel bad for him as he gets mocked online, but he still seems determined to put himself out there.
Money aside, I do feel sorry for the children of spectacularly talented parents, it must cast a long shadow. ( I repeat, money aside...😅)

She is not a fashion designer.

She is someone with enough money to hire designers, and enough of a profile to promote it.

Very different.

Buck stops with her though. It's a high stakes game to be in.

Ultimately his parents had to GRAFT. DB in particular was not the most talented kid, he put the hours in to get where he got. You either have that in you or you don't.

I do think Beckham had a gift, it is not all graft. Look at Mbappe, he is only 23-24, so many boys want that, doesn't mean beckhams son has the gift though.

Bigbonesmeatandgravy · 28/01/2023 14:18

There are some shamefully mean comments on here.
He's only 24 and he's trying to find his way. He may lack work ethic and commitment but I'm sure that's something he will come to figure out along the way.
How many non famous 24 year olds flit about not knowing what to do? Loads, it's normal. The only difference is BB is choosing to do it in the public eye (which must seem quite natural to him) while others don't have this option. His privilege also affords him better opportunities which he is making use of. Maybe he's not making the best choices but let him live and find his way, why judge and be cruel? There's no end to berate a 24 year old because he doesn't have it figured out yet.
He's also being relentlessly bullied by the DM. At least he's demonstrating some resilience and determination, I'm sure he will apply himself when he finds something he really enjoys and will go on to have a successful career. I wish him the best of luck.

You know I do wonder can they not see the circus and ridicule around their son and worry for him? Or are they equally as thick?

Maybe they spent all their adult lives in the public eye getting nearly as much flack as they did plaudits, so they just think it's par for the course for rich and famous people? We don't know if it affects his mental health or his self esteem, or if he thinks I can buy whatever I want, I can go wherever I like, so why should I care what anyone thinks of me.

girlfriend44 · 28/01/2023 14:21

blimey why would you even think about Brooklyn Beckham he is just one of Thousands of males on this planet? his dad just happened to be a good crosser of the ball.

EllieM27 · 28/01/2023 14:24

I feel bad that his parents didn’t seem to bother to check out the name they were giving him. Brooklyn is a girl’s name in the US. And not one like Taylor where you sometimes see boys or girls named that, it’s more akin to naming your son Sarah or Emily. Confused

Unicorn2022 · 28/01/2023 14:25

He is the one celebrity offspring that really irritates me. He's such a talentless buffoon.

Mind you, I remember when VB first became famous and her sister tried to make a living out of being VB's sister. She's got some kids and married a couple of lower league footballers since but still cashes in on her sister's fame.

TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl · 28/01/2023 12:23

All that money and he still always looks like he hasn’t had a shower in 5 days.

Mind you, his dad was always the same - I never understood why he was a sex symbol. He has the sex appeal of dishcloth IMO.

exactly and he looks like he has drawn on himself so does BB with all those tattoos. Money does not buy class for sure.

Pedallleur · 28/01/2023 14:27

Should also say celebrity children who do have normal jobs e.g. Doctor, soldier etc are uninteresting to the press who love sex, drugs, failure. Stella McCartney is famous in her own right now.

Pretty much. The trouble with having extremely wealthy parents - think pop stars, film stars, royal family etc, is that (u less they are extremely strict/disciplined in their approach) you simply don’t need to earn anything. Ever. And unless you somehow build your own hugely successful business making millions in profit annually in profit from basically scratch - which in reality is something that only about 1 in say 100,000 people might achieve, then whatever you do earn is just peanuts compared to your parents wealth which you will inherit. Or peanuts compared to your parents status/network which you can use to your advantage.

MrWhippersnapper · 28/01/2023 14:31

Stella McCartney was the only student to have Kate and Naomi model at her graduate show

Stella McCartney's business runs at a loss close to the losses recorded for VBs business.

parents earning six figures are probably providing a lovely level of security for their offspring. But when six figures turns to 7,8,9 figures you’re in danger of depriving children of the wonderful opportunity and satisfaction of making their own way in life. Basicslly massive inherited generational wealth sucks for everyone.

It seems more and more of the 8 and 9 folks are leaving it to foundations and other causes as they realize their families don't need that kind of money.

what is the real deal? 😂

He very much conveys the ‘don’t mess with me’ approach to soldiering. I couldn’t run away from him I’d just hand over my weapons and surrender.

martinisforeveryone · 28/01/2023 14:36

@theworldhas just so, but on the other side of the coin you have people like Holly Branson who ultimately joined her father’s business but who qualified and worked a year as a junior doctor first. Not all achievements need to be measured by earnings.

Sorry for him?

He's spent his entire life eating in the best restaurants, or in homes where they employ professional chefs, His parents mix with celeb cooks of the day and are supremely food, health and diet conscious.

Yet he 's cooking at the level of an 8 yr old; having picked the most basic convenience food recipes he still makes a pigs ear of it.What a lazy incompetent slacker.

I read at the time that she left medicine because she wasn’t offered the residency she wanted. Considering how limited medical training places are I imagine the people who missed out on a place when she got hers are felt a tad bitter.

karamazing · 28/01/2023 14:45

In a way, I get why he is doing what he is doing. he doesn't have the intellect/physical attributes/streetsmarts to earn more in any other role. He has reasonable clickbait earning potential so he is generating this clickbait via Brand Beckham.. This makes him more productive and successful then celeb kids who go on constant drug binges and waste away or get into trouble with the law.

This is what intrigues me about him. Is he aware of his incompetence? Does he think he is talented at cooking? Is he showcasing the peak of his talents as a chef? I need to know!

Can someone also explain why Nicola Peltz married him?

VB is really talented - everyone laughed when she ditched a singing career (and she can't sing) to become a high end fashion designer.

But she did it and - years later - is highly respected and successful.

@Minimalme

It's a hobby or worse still a "vanity business". It runs at a loss.

Successful business people make profits - or at the very least break even !

I do feel sorry for him, he.is just a kid. Also hard working parents seriously? One mime artist and one brainless pain in the backside who played football and kept fit. They were lucky that's it.

He’s not a kid, he’s 24
