Why don’t people get up and march to Downing Street and demand that unless the government sort out this nhs disaster , we the voting public want the current occupiers of no 10 to be removed from office

Nobody is stopping you from organising a protest march to Downing Street.

We can't demand that the tories be removed. We have to vote them out at the next election, thats democracy.

But don't worry, I'm sure the tories will lose the next election (probably a good election to lose to be honest) and then Kier and the cavalry will come and save us all

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 23/01/2023 15:45

Got a citaion for that claim about 'we the voting public' and some numbers? I mean, I'm sure SOME of them want the govt removed. I'm sure it's a fair number; I'm equally sure it's balanced by the number of people who'd like them to stay as govt and/or would prefer the option of a democratically run election rather than the demands of a mob.

Crack on then.

oh wait. You want somebody else to organise it.

Rightio.

Sparklybutold · 23/01/2023 15:48

Because most people don't have the emotional or physical energy for this. I know I'm doing all I can to just try and pay my bills and look after my family, work, study to try and earn more... I swear those at the top love the cost of living crisis as it keeps those at the bottom having to work so much harder to just get by.

SomethingLessIdentifiable · 23/01/2023 15:49

Sure, post details on here once you’ve organised it OP. I’ll come along.

Whats that?… You’re waiting for someone else to do it?

ExtraOnions · 23/01/2023 15:52

..because, despite what people say, a sizeable minority can’t see past the end of their own wallet - and spin lies about where the problems lie (small boats), where the costs are coming from (small boats) … when, In reality, cronyism, crime, and greed are bleeding the country dry.

Usergjdksndjsn · 23/01/2023 15:57

Because ‘we the voting public’ keep voting them in. So ‘we the voting public’ do actually want them there.

say you go ahead and do it, rather than waiting for someone else to organise it
let’s think your plan through for 5 seconds.
does the pm just say ok and leave?
or is it a total waste of time?
realistically what outcome are you looking for here

Tinkerbyebye · 23/01/2023 15:58

Oh go away with you

the mess has been 50 years in the making. The response of every single government has been to throw money at it. That’s not the answer

LakieLady · 23/01/2023 16:16

There's talk of all the public sector unions having a one-day strike and "day of action" on 1st Feb.

If it goes ahead, I daresay there will be protests going on as well.

Porcupinewithabeehive · 23/01/2023 16:18

So organize it then. You're the one being totally passive on social media while complaining about what's basically your idea. Put it into action.

BMW6 · 23/01/2023 16:23

100% agree with this.

LakeTiticaca · 23/01/2023 16:23

Election time you can vote. What magic wand will Labour wave to cure the NHS of its ills.
I won't be holding my breath

roarfeckingroarr · 23/01/2023 16:25

As a Tory voter, I can't wait for Keir and his merry men to take over and fix everything.

Zedlegs · 23/01/2023 16:32

I am not saying throw money at it, it needs reorganising from the top but the current government do not want it to happen, they show no interest at all, so we just plod on paying for a health service which we are not getting and people are both suffering and dying as a result , anyone can make things difficult, that’s easy but keeping things simple can be hard work but the rewards are endless

OP posts:
edwinbear · 23/01/2023 16:32

How's that actually going to look in practice OP? You're going to knock on the door and 'demand' he packs his stuff, whilst Keir waits for you to sort it out with his removals van parked outside?

Ladybrrrd · 23/01/2023 16:35

Can't possibly throw money at it. Throwing money at banks, the military, their mates, private schools, and pissing it away on private security contracts, fine. But the NHS, no way!

Parky04 · 23/01/2023 16:38

The Tories will lose the next election although the turnout will be one of the lowest ever. It will be the first time in 32 years that I won't vote. Don't expect Labour to wave the magic wand and everything will be fixed!

fairgame84 · 23/01/2023 16:39

How do we all get to Rishi's gaff when the trains keep striking?

soundsystem · 23/01/2023 16:40

Um. There's a march to Downing Street on 1st Feb. Do come along!

soundsystem · 23/01/2023 16:41

fairgame84 · 23/01/2023 16:39

Ha fair point!

x2boys · 23/01/2023 16:43

And how do.you think the NHS,will.be miraculously reformed once the Tories are out?
it's not a case of Tories bad Labour good
th e NHS, needs to totally restructuring from top.to bottom untiol.that happens nothing will change

Zedlegs · 23/01/2023 16:45

As I said the majority of people are complaining either through radio or tv programmes and social media and rightly so but it does no good where as people getting together and going to downing st well cause wider interest and that’s when people in power react even if they don’t won’t to because now the world can see and they don’t want that, self interest is all there interested in but if people are happy with that why moan ,

What, now? It's really cold and I'm about 60 miles away and DS needs his dinner soon and I'm going to a circuits class.
It would take me ages to march all the way to Downing St.

Zedlegs · 23/01/2023 16:50

I will go and say my piece but it will be futile as I know but I will do it anyway, as I Sid it’s numbers that count, the larger the crowd the more attention and hopefully things start to done
