Lockeddownagain · 21/01/2023 22:22

What are people spending on energy bills a month I am really just looking for perspective

OP posts:
Mumofoneson5 · 21/01/2023 22:23

About £125

NewBootsAndRanty · 21/01/2023 22:25

Loads

greenjojocat · 21/01/2023 22:26

Last one was £553

IDoAllMyOwnStunts · 21/01/2023 22:27

Isn't it a bit pointless unless you are comparing like with like?

saveforthat · 21/01/2023 22:27

My December bill was £415. I have a 2 bed flat, drafty, Victorian, really high ceilings.

Lockeddownagain · 21/01/2023 22:28

No cos I'm just interested in everyone

3 bed house, £325 per month, 2/3 of that is electric.

TheChosenTwo · 21/01/2023 22:29

More than what’s been mentioned on here so far but there are 5 of us in our house and I can afford not to be cold while I wfh and happy to spend the money on it so have my heating on a lot. We have a hot tub too which is kept hot all the time. I have however pretty much stopped using my tumble dryer though so it could be a lot more!

NameChagaiiiin · 21/01/2023 22:29

It's completely pointless. Size of house, size of family, age of family, any disabilities or AN, style of windows, style of house, in all day wfh, out all day at the office...I could go on, the variables are almost endless.

Please consider updating your thread to something like
Can anyone who lives in a duel fuel 3 bed north facing semi built in 1997 with 2 adults who wfh all day and 2 kids at school 9 til 4, 1 of who plays xbox 5pm til midnight, who have a 4 year old dishwasher on once a day, a 2 year old washing machine on twice a day and a 5 year old fridge freeze, share their bills....

🤣🤣

motherhubbard12 · 21/01/2023 22:30

I'm also interested in this. And what people are paying for electricity and gas split?

NewBootsAndRanty · 21/01/2023 22:30

If you're after monthly average usage/spend over the course of year this might help work it out (for homes with dual fuel)

Ponoka7 · 21/01/2023 22:30

Around £90 a month (on top of the government top up). We are hardly in and only cook one meal a day.

LucyWhipple · 21/01/2023 22:31

5 bed detached house - around £150 a month atm but we are on a fixed rate still so paying a lot less than many people.

Whatmarbles · 21/01/2023 22:31

I have just bought a tonne of coal. Last year, it was £400, this year £670 😱

We also get hammered for oil, it was nigh on £1/litre when we last filled up. The tank is 2500 litres.

The joys of living on the edge of the Pennines 😬

Really interesting. Where is this from?

WineDup · 21/01/2023 22:35

Our bill is £190/month, plus the government top up. We are always in significant credit (close to £1000) and withdraw £500 a few times a year, so I’m sure that’s too high. We live in a 2 bed ex council 4 in a block. Every time I try to reduce it, they tell us that it’s the correct level. There is almost always someone home. We have a fairly old, inefficient boiler, and our windows are the very early double glazed PVC ones (30+ year old) - we run two dehumidifiers 24/7 or we get terrible mould and condensation.

Emmamoo89 · 21/01/2023 22:36

£100

  1. Small 2 bedroom end of terrace but I do have an electric car and storage heaters and a radon extraction fan running.
NewBootsAndRanty · 21/01/2023 22:42

From 1 Jan to this evening:
Gas £104
Electric £13.54
Standing charges £15.75
£133.29 altogether so far - I'm expecting £190ish by the end of the month

motherhubbard12 · 21/01/2023 22:42

Not sure how it's nosey unless you know the people who are replying? It's a hot topic atm so I totally get why the OP is interested. I'm sure lots of switched on people are interested in this.

Redglitter · 21/01/2023 22:43

£40 a month for both after government £67 taken off

LeFeu · 21/01/2023 22:45

£287 a month for 4 bed terrace with 5 of us. More than 2/3rds on electricity!
