OP posts:
florenceandthemac · 21/01/2023 22:46

Just put our readings in and for the period 22nd Nov - 15th Jan it was over £600.
4 bed 3 storey semi

1994girl · 21/01/2023 22:50

214 mine was this month. And that is not good on maternity leave pay.

sarahc336 · 21/01/2023 22:50

Just gone up to £420

Wishesa · 21/01/2023 22:51

£250 per month dual fuel, small 4 bed, 2 adults, 1 of those WFH. And we've really tried to cut back.
That's without the subsidy.
Mostly use microwave, shower quickly every other day, heating (old boiler) on 1 hour in morning and 4 hours in the evening

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 21/01/2023 22:52

£65 combined gas and electric if we use the solid fuel stove for heating. If we use purely gas then it goes up to £110 per month combined. We pay monthly for what we use. Not dd

sarahc336 · 21/01/2023 22:52

Sorry I should have said a 3 bed i for Ian semi with terrible insulation and high ceilings

stairgates · 21/01/2023 22:53

Our December bill was £220 I was over the moon with that! 6 bed semi. We did buy £170 worth of logs for the log burner though aswell so not that good really 😁

Pleasecreateausername13 · 21/01/2023 22:55

I’ve actually been shocked at how low my bill has been. 3 bed semi detached and I won’t lie, I’m part time and mostly at home with my little one and I’ve had the heating blasting since October literally all day every day. This month it was £120 for gas and electric.
I really was thinking this month it was gonna be about £300-400.
So because of that I’ll keep it blasting.

FfeminyddCymraeg · 21/01/2023 22:57

November - £320
December - £464
January - on track to be £400

We have solar panels which I try to use to my advantage but it’s still high.

20 year old 4 bed house - WFH 3 days a week. New boiler.

We fixed in June 22 and used to pay £130 a month 😬

IWannaBeInTheRoomWhereItHappens · 21/01/2023 22:59

5 bed, I am disabled so need warmth and we both WFH..last month was £550. Nasty shock after coming off a fixed at £185. This month will be £400 ish, managed to cut it down a bit. We also charge a car, a good 2/3 of our bill is electric. It's a nightmare tbh.

Ricco12 · 21/01/2023 22:59

5 bed house

last quarter electric bill oct- dec

£330

We have a log burner which pretty much heats most of the house

Oil tank for hot water

Koalacuddles · 21/01/2023 23:01

the Variations on here are crazy!
we’ve got a 5 bed detached. Not a massive house - kitchen and living room downstairs, 3 beds and bathroom and then 2 attic rooms.
boiler is ancient and oil, which costs us £100 a month. Electricity usage for December was £130 - more than usual as we were all at home sick for weeks.
we leave the heating on 15 constantly and turn it up to about 19 in the evenings. I can’t bear the cold.
we are 2 adults, 1 teen and 2 little ones.
from watching the smart meter - swapping to an air fryer rather than using the oven for things like chips and nuggets seems to have helped a lot.

we are paying double what we did when we moved in 4 years ago.

boydoggies · 21/01/2023 23:02

Almost £800

RedSnail · 21/01/2023 23:02

I pay by direct debit £12.51 per month

hamsterchump · 21/01/2023 23:03

£140 a month before the £67 off so £73 with that. We're dual fuel with electric shower (2-3 5 - 10 min showers a day), 2 powerful pcs on all day but all gas cooker (used every day) and boiler.

We're home all day and run the heating for about 8 -10 hours a day at the moment (never at night, like a cool bedroom) but it's an old warm air system which I think is quite cheap compared to other forms, seems to be anyway from what I read on here about other people's bills.

Crystalcrazy · 21/01/2023 23:03

1930’s semi, three bedrooms, original single glazed windows. Currently paying around £400 per month, the split is £300 gas and £100 electric.

Imthegingerbreadwoman · 21/01/2023 23:04

593 4 bed semi. 6 people.

RedSnail · 21/01/2023 23:04

That’s combined for gas and electric

NibbledSwitch · 21/01/2023 23:04

£11 a month... that's including the government discount

ACynicalDad · 21/01/2023 23:07

Our dd is £200 a month. + the government money we’ve only spent it one month this winter. 4 of us in a 3 bed Victorian terrace. Thermostat at 19 morning and evening.

thismeansnothing · 21/01/2023 23:14

Last bill was just over £200
4 bed detached, 2 adults (one working from home) 2 kids.

It is a new build though and having come from a Victorian terrace we're finding this really energy efficient.

RoyalStallion · 21/01/2023 23:17

3 bed. About £120 after the government help. Variable capped rate, gas heating/ cooking

youdialwetile · 21/01/2023 23:17

In the US but might be interesting for perspective from non-UK prices. 590 pounds this month ($730). That's for:
Heat
Light
Hot water
Cooking
It's been mild so far this winter so better than I hoped for. 4 bed detached single family home. 2 adults, 3 kids all school age.

DecommissionedVag · 21/01/2023 23:20

£240 plus the government top up. Only £80 of that is electricity. We're 2 adults and one pre-schooler in a 3 bed 1930s semi.

BMW6 · 21/01/2023 23:25

December was Gas £174, Electric nil (covered by the £67 credit).

2 bed terrace, gas CH on all day 7am to 11pm at 19 degrees. Gas hob, electric oven used twice a week, tumble dryer used for about 2 hours a week.
2 adults.
