To ask if people still wear pyjamas round the house?

I know it was popular, I've never worn pjs to bed but just changed into them when I get home to chill out for the evening or sometimes at weekends if it's raining and not going anywhere.
Do people still do this?

Not pyjamas - I wouldn’t want to eat dinner in them - but loungey stuff sometimes.

VestaTilley · 21/01/2023 22:55

YABU, I wear pyjamas to bed but don’t wear them in the day or at home when I get in from work.

Whatwhatwhatnow · 21/01/2023 23:28

Nope. My PJs are for bedtime only. I get up and shower and then don't want to put them on again. I dress casually for work anyway so don't bother changing when I get home.

HotDogJumpingFrogHaveACookie · 21/01/2023 23:59

Yes. I alternate between nude and pjs. Never sleep in them, but they're comfier than my proper clothes so obviously will always choose them for lounging around.

Toomanybirthdays · 22/01/2023 00:01

No . PJs are for when I literally go to bed.

GahArgh · 22/01/2023 00:02

Comfy clothes, yes. But I don't lounge around in what I sleep in because I have dog and I don't want a bed full of dog hair. He's a downstairs dog.

justasking111 · 22/01/2023 00:03

Never worn them prefer nighties. But fleece dressing gowns with zipper I'm addicted to now. I have three and throw them over clothes when chilly

quietnightmare · 22/01/2023 00:11

Comfy clothes or pajamas no matter what. Those people who can sit in jeans in the evenings confuse me and have the makings is a serial killer

Toddlerteaplease · 22/01/2023 00:12

Nope. Only if I'm on a late shift and don't want to out fresh clothes on for a couple of hours before bed. Prefer to be up showered and dressed at all times. Even if poorly.

vodkaredbullgirl · 22/01/2023 00:27

I wear pjs to work, I work nights in a dementia unit.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/01/2023 00:40

Round the house I have various jogger-type things from M&S which are labelled as “lounge pants” which I wear with jumpers at this time of year. In summer with a vest top or tee. If I am home I am in house clothes. For actual bed I change into a nightie.

MrsMikeDrop · 22/01/2023 00:41

Always. I only change if I have to leave the house or if someone is coming over, and even then I might not. They are too comfy

Aubriella · 22/01/2023 00:44

Yes, I have to be comfortable at home. I have PJs that don’t look like PJs, so they can be worn outside if I need to go out suddenly.

I also have sensory issues so have very strict requirements on material, neckline, sleeves, buttons, seams etc.

StarCourt · 22/01/2023 01:43

I work from home and sometimes work in pyjamas. They are very comfy
I keep a nice scarf on my desk in case i get an unexpected call and the person turns on their camera. I throw it on and look fine.

DelphiniumBlue · 22/01/2023 09:56

Haven't worn PJs since I was a child, I don't own any. But I do wear wear a hoody and trickiest or leggings most of them time when I'm not working or properly out- for supermarket shopping, certainly!

Nannyfannybanny · 23/02/2023 12:56

No, the dog needs a night time walk. This past year having both lichen sclerosis and perianal eczema, I am not allowed to wear PJs anymore. Bought night shirts.., don't like them because I'm very restless, and when you turn over in bed, they don't .

AmyDudley · 23/02/2023 13:10

People round here go to the shops and take their kids to school in pyjamas (plus dressing gown if it is a cold day) so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be shy about wearing them indoors.

28January · 23/02/2023 13:32

Am sat here in my pjs. I will usually change into them after dinner as they are comfy to lounge around in. We are currently on holiday in a very hot and humid place, we usually go out in the mornings then come back and swim after lunch and I have started just putting my pjs on until we go out again as there are only so many clean clothes I can go through in a day and pjs are easy to rinse out and dry. We have our own villa so nobody except DH sees me.

Emptycrackedcup · 23/02/2023 18:15

Always in my PJs

EhrlicheFrau · 02/07/2023 15:40

I have 'lounge clothes' - so items which are comfy to sit around in, wouldn't be too uncomfortable if I fell asleep in, but that I could also go outside in if I had to.
