To ask if people still wear pyjamas round the house?

I know it was popular, I've never worn pjs to bed but just changed into them when I get home to chill out for the evening or sometimes at weekends if it's raining and not going anywhere.
Do people still do this?

If I'm in the house they're on . I never actually wear them in bed though.

MarmiteCoriander · 21/01/2023 19:30

I have a nightie for very hot weather, but in winter in the house I live in trackie trousers, a Tshirt and a jumper if needed. To sleep, I might keep trackies and socks on, then topless, or with a light vest if very cold. I haven't worn actual PJ's in maybe 10yrs.

PoseyFlump · 21/01/2023 19:30

In the winter I love slipping into pyjamas as soon as I get home on a dark evening.

In the summer I love eating breakfast in the garden in my pyjamas. Roll on the sunshine!

Zanatdy · 21/01/2023 19:31

Oh God yeah. I get into my PJ’s around 6pm every evening if I’m not going out of course. I like to get dressed in the day though on the weekend and have to anyway to take the dog out but my DD stays in her PJ’s all weekend. She will shower and change them but doesn’t bother getting dressed if not going out as she’s more comfortable in them, and fair enough. I’d never go out in them though, and I regularly see mums on school run in them which I think is ridiculous

MichaelFabricantWig · 21/01/2023 19:32

No, I’ve never been a fan of wearing pyjamas around the house unless later in the evening before bed maybe, I could never sit and eat my dinner in pyjamas for example

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 21/01/2023 19:33

Of course. My bra is off practically before I step though the door, then into CRP top bra, lounge suit/PJ's and hair up in a bun.

At weekends, after I've done nipping out for shopping, visiting people, as long as I'm in for the rest of the day, PJ's all the way!!

Iloveabaconbutty · 21/01/2023 19:27

Probably flying in the face of convention here but the only time I ever wear pyjamas are on really freezing cold nights when I'm already in bed.

Same! I'd never wear them round the house. I find it bizarre to be honest. Why do people buy clothes that are so uncomfortable that they need to change into pyjamas when they get home? Baffling to me.

whataboutsecondbreakfast · 21/01/2023 19:33

I never wear pajamas. If I'm at home all day, I'll wear legging and an oversized jumper in winter, or a dress in summer. I like getting up, showered and dressed even if I'm not going anywhere - it's better for my MH.

LeFeu · 21/01/2023 19:33

Nope, never have. I don’t personally like it but my husband and kids do, it’s just personal preference!

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 21/01/2023 19:35

I usually wear leggings but I'm in pjs right now because I'm pissing freezing and I can't get warm at all!

Glitteratitar · 21/01/2023 19:35

I only get changed into them when I get into bed. In the mornings on the weekend I might be in them for a couple of hours lounging about when we have no plans before I get changed out of them.

Ottil · 21/01/2023 19:36

Never pyjamas, no, but I'm all about comfort. I have very defined 'out' and 'at home' wardrobes Grin.

For me, it would be soft cotton dungarees or lounge pants and a soft tee shirt or shirt. And big, warm, chunky Fairisle socks.

Coffeaddict · 21/01/2023 19:37

Yes.
Currently on mat leave with a baba that's a few weeks old so basically living in pjs

SomeCommonThing · 21/01/2023 19:39

I am one of those that sleeps in PJ's, I basically live in them. I love days I WFH because I don't even bother to get dressed.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 21/01/2023 19:40

Yes. I wear pyjamas in the house. I also wear pyjamas to bed but never the same pyjamas as I was wearing to lounge, all my pyjamas are either allocated as day pyjamas or night pyjamas and it would feel weird to wear a pair of pyjamas allocated as day pyjamas to bed or vice versa!

LuzzBightyearzz · 21/01/2023 19:41

Absolutely.

SoupAndSodaBread · 21/01/2023 19:41

I don't do this, but I'm sure plenty of people do. I am partial to joggers and a hoodie which is just a bigger version of PJs. But I only wear actual PJs to sleep in

SoupAndSodaBread · 21/01/2023 19:42

And sometimes I sleep in comfy clothes like leggings or shorts and tshirt

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 21/01/2023 19:42

DD (11) has "day pyjamas" and "night pyjamas".

Of course! Or yoga pants and t shirt. Comfort first!

TempyBrennan · 21/01/2023 19:46

as soon as we get home I go and get changed into mine, my husband always gets irked at me for it but there’s a comfort involved in pyjamas that you don’t get from anything else!

itsabigtree · 21/01/2023 19:46

I put mine on on the evening, take them off for bed, and then put them back on in the morning. I do eventually get a shower snd get dressed though!

No! I put then after a bath at about 9.30pm.
I have loads of super nice clothes so want to wear them tbh! Especially at weekends and in the evenings when my DH is around…If he only ever saw me padding around with floppy boobs in pjs and scraped back hair I think I’d feel a bit gross! What’s so uncomfortable about normal clothes?!
