By dark mode I mean when the screen is black and the text is white. Or does it exist?

Out of genuine interest, why?

featheryfancy · 20/01/2023 23:04

I'd love it! Everything on my phone and laptop that can be is set to it.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 20/01/2023 23:05

Invert scene on an iPhone. Via display and brightness in settings. Just click on dark.

NeverHadANickname · 20/01/2023 23:07

Ooh yes that would be nice, I'd like that too.

Justdontbejudgy · 20/01/2023 23:08

Samsung phones can be put on dark mode, as I imagine most devices can.

That doesn’t work when the website is set to be a particular colour and is unaffected by dark mode.

I would love a dark mode too.

SirenSays · 20/01/2023 23:08

Yes! totally agree

BackOnTheBandWagon · 20/01/2023 23:10

Totally agree - so bright when you're up with tiny ones in the middle of the night.

@MNHQ - can you move to Site Stuff? (and also put it on The List Of Things To Do)

stbrandonsboat · 20/01/2023 23:10

It does have a dark mode in settings.

JackRosenberg · 20/01/2023 23:10

It's under display > more settings

I would really like a mumsnet dark mode

Have tried it multiple times and can’t make it work for me :(

@RandomCatGenerator can always turn the screen brightness down and alter the hues as well. Saves disturbing anyone else whilst midnight scrolling! Every little helps etc.

Doesn't affect Mumsnet on an iPhone.

You do have to click on save. It works on the website. On both phone and laptop. (Don’t have mumsnet app).

You have to go to settings on the mumsnet account dashboard.

GetOffTheTableMabel · 20/01/2023 23:20

Very disappointed that you didn’t mean ‘dark mode’ like a sort-of dark-web mumsnet where we form a pack of for-hire ninja mothers who go out righting wrongs, punishing CFs, selfish parkers and cheating husbands.

BackOnTheBandWagon · 20/01/2023 23:25

Is it in the Settings section on the website? It's not in the iPhone app.

It would be a total ballache to have to log on the the website when you just want it in the app, and not necessarily all the time. Daft workaround.

ShaunaTheSheep · 20/01/2023 23:38

Just tried it on iPhone. Can have dark on the website but it doesn't affect the app.

Oooh thank you!!

So much better.

OnlyTheBravest · 21/01/2023 00:03

How am I only finding out about this now.

Thanks @JackRosenberg

That’s what I was here for too. Looking to get my hands on some illicit formula, that kind of thing
