By dark mode I mean when the screen is black and the text is white. Or does it exist?

OP, you are both YABU and YANBU!

YABU - because dark mode already exists in Firefox, Brave and Chrome (desktop browsers), and like others have replied on here, you can also set dark mode on mobile e.g. Samsung and iPhone.

YANBU - for enquiring about this, because I find dark mode is essential. Less eye strain.

I really hate dark mode anything, just doesn't agree with my eyes or brain, odd.

Me too. I recently tried it and it's actually more strain on my eyesight.

If you’re using an iPhone

Settings
Accessibility
Display & Text Size
Smart Invert - toggle ON

Turns everything that isn’t already dark dark, not just Mumsnet

It's under display > more settings

You hero. Thank you

Very disappointed that you didn’t mean ‘dark mode’ like a sort-of dark-web mumsnet where we form a pack of for-hire ninja mothers who go out righting wrongs, punishing CFs, selfish parkers and cheating husbands.

That's in a whole other settings section, but if I told you where it was I'd have to kill you.. 🤐

shhhh @JackRosenberg or they'll all want a go.

If you want to enable dark mode for Mumsnet go to:
Settings > Display, and there you will see 3 options:
-Default view - shows light or dark mode depending on your device settings
-Light view - shows the current view
-Dark view - shows the dark colour variant

It's not available on the app right now but we are looking into this.
