To think the Rishi seatbelt nonsense is just tedious?

Not a Tory voter, never have been.

But seriously all this over the fact he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt? Anyone would think he’d been exposed as a sex offender or a user of Class A drugs 🙄

OP posts:

Do we want an insane person ruling our country?

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 20/01/2023 22:50

Why would any sane person take their seat belt off, in a moving car?

Do we want an insane person ruling our country?

sst1234 · 21/01/2023 23:54

The bigger problem here is that Rishi is so stupid and his people are even more stupid that they themselves put videos out there and shoot themselves in the foot.

These idiots are so incompetent and pathetic that it’s embarrassing. It’s truly scary the they are in charge. It’s like bad satire.

You know the opposition are not making much headway when a small incident like this is being used for political gains.
It's not a great example to set but hardly a disaster.

Do we want an insane person who doesn't know what a woman is?

Who doesn’t know what a woman is? The handpump guy?

The opposition is consistently 20 pts ahead in the polls.

cocktailclub · 22/01/2023 03:55

I'm surprised his communications team did not spot this before it was released.
It's the wrong message to send out.

parsniiips · 22/01/2023 04:05

The point of it all is that the government, time and time again, think they are above the rules. They expect the rest of us scum bags to obey them like good boys and girls and pay fines/do time if we get caught out.

So no it isn't tedious, if he and his team can't even check a video and think about the bigger picture before putting it online they deserve all the shit they get.

TheHauntedPencilCase · 22/01/2023 04:19

Exactly this @parsniiips . The same with the pandemic parties and NZ with his tax, the issue is they consistently approach rules like they don't apply.

This. These people are just so stupid to the extend I wonder if we’re being trolled by him and his team. The guy doesn’t even know how to use a contactless card.

2023bebetter · 22/01/2023 08:13

It's pathetic. He will be surrounded by security, special driver, yes accidents happen but a high VIP with special stuff all around them for a few moments is highly unlikely.

Ggggggoooo · 22/01/2023 08:54

Yes. I’m no Tory but it comes across as desperate tbh

Desperate from whom? The opposition are more focused on the latest sleaze currently emerging from the Tory party - Zahawi's tax issues and Johnson's private loan/BBC chairman story.

Haven't heard Starmer say anything about the seatbelt - it is a story the Tories released themselves, direct to camera.

BashirWithTheGoodBeard · 22/01/2023 09:05

The problem the Tories have is the context. It wouldn't have been a big deal three years ago. But now, given the climate of law breaking, impunity and one rule for us they've fostered lately, any time one of them breaks the law it's a story.

The media. Tired of seeing the same story over and over again. I just couldn’t give a toss

Americano75 · 22/01/2023 09:22

I think it's quite worrying that the man running the country filmed himself breaking the law and it didn't occur to him that people would notice.

Yes, it's a dipshit thing to do.

They wouldn't publish it if it did not generate interest from readers/viewers - meaning you may be sick of it but many others are not.

The current Tory corruption deserves greater attention, though, IMO.

lonelyinyournightmare · 22/01/2023 09:41

It's the fact that he did it without thinking. It implies he has done it before, and that it didn't cross his mind how dangerous it could be, let alone the fact that he was breaking the law.

I always wear a seatbelt. I don't know anyone who does not. Then again I didn't attend any parties during lockdown, nor did anyone I know. I also don't make any effort not to pay the taxes I owe.

It really is just yet another example of not even considering what the sensible, morally right and lawful thing to do is. Arrogance.

beguilingeyes · 22/01/2023 09:55

It's a dead cat. The media are going 'look over there '. Eight pages on Sunak's seatbelt and nothing about the new Chairman of the BBC being a crony of Johnson's.

The thought had occurred to me. After all, this isn't the most potentially damaging story around the Tories at the moment.

beguilingeyes · 22/01/2023 09:57

All gone quiet about Michelle Mone and the VIP lane.

Just been talking about BBC on Sky News now so the dead cat isn’t working. They’ve also tried to bury it on the Daily Mail but the few people who’ve found the story are outraged. Linking it here so story spreads far and wide.
