Fool your neighbours into thinking you are off surfing every weekend by tying an ironing board to your roof rack ( Viz circa 1987, still makes me chuckle at the absurdity of it 😆)
Need Panko breadcrumbs for katsu curry but don't want to pay silly a price? Bake ordinary breadcrumbs on a low heat in the oven or airfryer.
Make your own granola by using ordinary porridge oats, dessicated coconut, chopped nuts and seeds or cheap, boring muesli and then stir in enough apple juice to make it slightly damp and then bake on a low heat until dried. Cool completely and it will be crunchy and delicious.
If the cereal at the bottom of your cereal box or the last biscuits in the bottom of the packet or tin are no longer crunchy, pop into the bottom of an oven on a low heat and then cool. Voila, instantly crunchy again.
Make light and airy home made bread without the faff of weighing the ingredients, kneading or using expensive bread flour.
Simply mix some warm water, salt, and plain flour together with a good sprinkling of fast acting yeast so it's thick and sloppy and leave until it bubbles up.
Then mix in more flour and anything else you want in there such as chopped nuts, seeds.
Form into balls for the air fryer or loaves and bake on a medium to high heat.
If you don't use all the dough at once, it will stay fresh in the fridge for a week, just spray with olive oil and cover with cling film to prevent it drying out.
( Taste the mixture at both stages. A squirt of yogurt, apple cider vinegar, honey, olive oil are all optional extras you can add at the initial stage or add in the later stage if you find it's too salty.)
If you find you haven't put enough salt in the dough simply season the top before or after baking.
Game changer.
