Getting ready to go out trying on every single thing casting it all over the floor and ending up going out in Levi's, a crop top and a checked shirt tied around the waist - every weekend without fail.

Newcastle Brown.
Snakebite and black.
Dive bars with great music.
Undercuts.

Smoking and having a titchy waist (but couldn't fit into a topshop size 10)

Feelng I had a policial party to vote for

Hated it at the time though. Oh how I wish we could be like that again.

Partying with friends and no photos
Cheap holidays to Ibiza and Tenerife and no bank cards - counting out the pesetas and making them last the full fortnight - had to do a daily count 🤣
Spaghetti strap dresses and tops and no bra and it was fine
Glitter - glitter tubes to rub on eyes / face
Loved twisting hair into little butterfly clips
Trance !the late 90’s was trance central !
Early 90’s I miss the kappa jackets and MD 20/20

Going to a dive of a club with a fiver in my pocket, buying4 vodkas for 50p each and 2 bottles of Hooch alcoholic lemonade for £1 each and using them as a mixer. Walking home for an afterparty and waking up a few hours later as fresh as a daisy.

The Next directory.

Nirvana.

My mum who died aged 46 in 1994 and my grandma who died in 1996.😪

Our local club done 50p vodka n mixers in 1997
you could go out with a fiver and have a great night… it sounds unbelievable doesn’t it

SensationalSusie · 20/01/2023 00:22

By the by, does anyone remember shout and bliss magazines? bliss selling for £15-20 on eBay I’m aghast I threw all mine away now (before recycling!!)

AzureOrchid · 20/01/2023 00:24

I remember shout and bliss
Bliss always was a bit too perfect wasn’t it - like in the days before photo shop they just made everything a bit fake looking

Ndd135632 · 20/01/2023 00:24

Oh the optimism! The certain knowledge that everything was OK and was always going to be OK. Along with grunge, britpop, Euro 96, Moscow Mules and all night partying.
I don't miss the sexism and casual misogyny, mind you.

TurquoiseDress · 20/01/2023 00:44

Being a teenager again!

And Britpop!

And my flat tummy wearing those low slung trousers and bearing some midriff trying to be like All Saints! Grin

Ahh no mobile phones, no Facebook/social media

I'm SO grateful none of my teenage antics/shame ever got posted online! These all stayed in the 90s! Grin

TurquoiseDress · 20/01/2023 00:47

And Euro '96 and World Cup '98!

Sunshine beer & football watching! FootballFootballFootball🍺🍺🍺
