Lash growth serum for 13yo?

Justonecat · 17/01/2023 07:54

Dd cut her all her eyelashes off! She really regrets it. She says she tried tk cut off one single eye lash which was bothering her, it ended up uneven, she tried to even it out and the rest is history.

My question is if there are any SAFE eye lash growth serums that high she could feasibly use? I know revitalash and similar products are definitely not appropriate for use by for example pregnant women so those would definitely be out, but if you have any suggestions I’d be so appreciative…!!

Time is the only safe way to fix it and use it as a teaching lesson not to do anything that she sees on tiktok ffs

PinkPlantCase · 17/01/2023 07:57

She’ll just have to wait for them to grow

Rebel2023 · 17/01/2023 08:07

Rapidlash maybe or the ordinary lash serum?
I've used rapidlash for years and no issues with it

Thepeopleversuswork · 17/01/2023 08:16

Just let them grow back.

I ripped off all the eyelashes on one eye when I was a student. It was very painful and I looked like a pillock for a couple of weeks but they grew back quickly enough and I learned a difficult lesson.

I wouldn't be encouraging a 13 year old to be putting lash growth serum on, its needlessly drawing attention to it, she's too young really and I very much doubt it will make any difference.

I also honestly would be encouraging her to think about why she is wanting to cut her eyelashes in the first place. I know experimentation with beauty trends is fairly normal at that age but that sounds like an unhealthy degree of focus on your appearance.

Imthegingerbreadwoman · 17/01/2023 08:20

No, she should be patient and they will grow back. Probably about 6 weeks. I really don't think these serums will make it grow quicker.

Sasha07 · 17/01/2023 08:31

OPs dd wasn't doing it for tiktok or other vanity reasons, she had an annoying eyelash poking in her and she tried to remove it so not sure what pp are getting at.
If she's self conscious in the meantime, Lolas lashes do some really natural, light false eyelashes. They sell a glue pen, in clear aswell as black to keep it looking natural. She'd need to practice how to draw the line on, just above her natural lash line, but they're so easy to do and take less than a minute once you get the hang of it.
I tried lash extensions last year and they absolutely ruined my lashes, I don't even wear mascara now, just these falsies. I've even been ziplining in them and they held on strong.
I know its maybe abit much for a young girl but some are really self conscious so thought it was worth suggesting.

What's it got to do with TikTok?!

It says nothing about tick tick in the op, she had an annoying lash. I’ve had to cut of single lashes before, mine are long and sometimes bend the wrong way .

DoYou · 17/01/2023 08:55

I'm assuming the TikTok is coming from a typo in the op, tk instead of to.

Whyisitsososohard · 17/01/2023 08:59

I've been using the UK lash serum and had good deowth. I got a lash lift and the lash tec commented how long they were

littlelid · 17/01/2023 09:04

I really wouldn't use any lash growth serum.

Maybe something like this:
DHC Eyelash Tonic to help keep them strong and not snap but at her age I expect they'll be in good condition when they grow back anyway.

Did you even read the op?

I think this is a great idea. False eyelashes while she is waiting for them to grow back.

I’m thinking of trying false eyelashes because I am sick of mascara smudging. It never used to smudge but no matter what brand I try by the end of the day I have black smudges under my eyes.

Roseey · 17/01/2023 09:10

It won’t help, in fact it will make it worse. Lash growth serums work by strengthening the lash so it doesn’t fall out as easily. That means it has longer to grow before falling out but they will still only grow to a certain length before naturally falling out. If you put lash growth serum on the stumps you will prevent them from falling out. What you really want is for them to fall out so that new lashes grow in their place. The new lashes will have the potential to grow longer than the stumps.

Soontobe60 · 17/01/2023 09:11

She’s a kid. Forget the false eyelash idea. Let her be a kid not a pre pubescent version of a woman!

SpaceMonitor · 17/01/2023 09:12

Growth serums are a total con. There’s no evidence that they work. Putting products on has no impact on how/if it grows. Obviously the cosmetic industry will tell you otherwise.

You DD will have to wait for the cut ones to fall out and new ones to grow in their place.

She also needs a lesson on keeping scissors away from her eyes.

Rubbish, they work extremely well if they contain prostaglandin. I don’t think they would make your daughters lashes grow any faster though OP as they are designed to lengthen and thicken.

fatherliamdeliverance · 17/01/2023 09:21

I think most serums that I'm aware of make lashes grow longer by not falling out rather than growing faster. She might just need to wait this one out!

This isn’t true. My lashes grew so long eith revitalash that I had to trim them because they were hitting my glasses.

Passmeaplacard · 17/01/2023 09:25

I would get her some of the natural looking individual clump type lashes just until they grow back. Also don’t think the lash serum would do much
I know 13 sounds young but you do feel very self conscious about these things at that age.

Dixiechickonhols · 17/01/2023 09:26

Mines 16 and uses grande lash. It’s amazing I can see massive difference. I’d tried nyk one and not impressed. It’s expensive but usually a code.

Dixiechickonhols · 17/01/2023 09:31

Try seeing a beautician that specialises in brows and lashes. I don’t mean those massive fake ones they can do very natural individual ones. Again not cheap but perhaps she can contribute Xmas money or do chores.
Shes 13 and been silly but must be so self conscious.

sunseaandme · 17/01/2023 09:36

Lash UK is great and really does work x

Cookerhood · 17/01/2023 10:29

Lash UK didn't work for me. However what people are saying is true, they work by stopping lashes falling out so while the stubby ones might grow a bit they would still look stubby. She just needs to wait a few weeks & they will be fine. I shaved half an eyebrow off by mistake at similar age - it grew back.
