For a five guys? I'm really craving a five guys, said to my daughter we could go tomorrow night for dinner but she thinks driving 30 miles just for a five guys is ridiculous. I don't 😂. AIBU?

It's my time of the month and I also plan on starting healthy eating on Monday so I feel I'm having lots of unhealthy cravings the past few days.

I read this as 30miles to see 5 different men! 😳

Despite living in London 18yrs between zone 1-2, I've never heard of this brand before and had to google what it was!?!?

bloodywhitecat · 05/01/2023 19:25

30 miles? That's just round the corner in rural speak!

SouthwarkSwish · 05/01/2023 19:25

I would go that far for one of their shakes alone

NerrSnerr · 05/01/2023 19:27

You only live once. It doesn't matter if people here don't like their food, they're not the ones eating it.

I say go for it and enjoy every bite.

I live rurally, 30m is nothing. Just do it if you want it.

Same. We're miles from any fast food places.
MacDonalds and KFC are 23 miles away.

Burger King, KFC and Harry Ramsdens are 28 miles away.

Chopstix is closest at 15 miles on a motorway services (so longer to get back home)

God knows if there's a Pizza Hut anywhere other than the big, big cities even further out. I've never seen a Nando's, Wagamama or Pret-a-manger.

I am vegetarian and have never had a five guys. But yanbu. Get the burger.

If it was London it wouldn't be 30 miles to a Five Guys!

I've got 17 in a ten mile radius and I'm in extremely outer London.

You must be in the posh Outer bit then. I'm outer London and can only think of a about 4 nearish (10-15 miles) including travelling into Central London.

I will admit to getting some help from Google maps.

I’ve never heard of Five Guys and thought this thread was about some sort of sexual fantasy.

XenoBitch · 05/01/2023 19:39

The one closest to me was 45 miles away. Still would have driven there. Thankfully, there is now one in my town.
Have only just discovered "all the way" though. So much easier than stammering out what toppings I want.

Now I really want a Five Guys... and their fries. I bloody love their fries.

I'm in Dorset and can see a Five Guys from my window Grin

Poole? 🤔

Refreshmentsanyone · 05/01/2023 19:49

No. Delayed gratification is a good skill to master.

Have one if you manage to eat healthily for a month ( and think about why you are wanting to do that)

piefacedClique · 05/01/2023 17:49

For a wagamamas yes…. Maybe not a 5 guys 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This! 😆👍

Glitterybee · 05/01/2023 19:57

My closest is around 30 miles away and you bet if I’m craving a five guys I will drive it!

LadyKenya · 05/01/2023 19:59

No way.

RNBrie · 05/01/2023 20:02

I live in London and we have Five Guys on Deliveroo so no need to drive anywhere 😆

Season0fTheWitch · 05/01/2023 20:09

I'd make a trip of it, go shopping or to do something else nearby before dinner. 30m isn't that much really. When I lived in America I'd drive 10 miles to see my nearest neighbour!

Oh silly me! Linky link

Kinnorafron · 05/01/2023 20:34

YABU.

justasoul · 05/01/2023 20:38

Back to the thread I wouldn’t for a 5 Guys (also similar distance from me) but would for something I liked better in the same location, so YANBU.

Justcallmebebes · 05/01/2023 20:45

Just googled 5 guys. No, I definetely wouldn't eat anything from there let alone drive 30 miles

BeckettandCastle · 05/01/2023 20:46

I've driven nearly 40 miles round trip for a Burger King more than once. There was one much nearer but not a drive thru so we don't go there.

Absolutely do it and enjoy.

gogohmm · 05/01/2023 20:50

I prefer McDonald's Blush

Poole? 🤔

I looked it up, it's on the Castlepoint estate. About 40 miles for me, but we do go to Castlepoint occasionally as it's the only M&S we can get to big enough to stock DHs weird suit size. Maybe we'll sample this exotic delight next time 🤔

Wagamama's, on the other hand, is only 15 miles away, which is positively local.
