Getting into bed is my favourite part of the day. Does that make my life seem sad?

I love my bed. It's my most favourite place in The world.

HumphreysCorner · 27/12/2022 19:37

As soon as I get home I'm in my PJs
Love my bed with my elephant (from age 12) and my hot water bottle 🐷 x

No YANBU, my dcs run me ragged. I love the feeling when I first slip into bed under the covers and can feel the smooth cool sheets, it is heaven! Infact I'm trying to get the dc to bed so I can go to bed myself and watch netflix!

itsallgoingpetetong · 27/12/2022 19:48

Yanbu, i love going to bed. I have two demanding teenagers and my bed feels like the only place i can relax

Naimee87 · 27/12/2022 19:49

Absolutely agree! Love my DS, my dog and my hobby and even my very complicated LDR but absolutely love love love
going to bed! 🤩 Best time of the day!

I often call to mind this Moira Rose quote: "I’ve had enough waking hours for one day."

I love this!

Adore bedtime too. So different from my teen-aged self.

It is SUCH precious time. Quiet and calm and nice after a busy day.

I find quiet and calm on my nice comfortable sofa where I can read, watch tv, cuddle with DH, surf the internet etc. I don't find sitting in bed reading or watching tv comfortable at all.

I would love to be able to manage on 3 hours sleep a night. Sleeping is such a waste of time.

The only time I want to go to bed is when I am ill

Jinglebellrocks · 27/12/2022 20:44

'i find quiet and calm on my nice comfortable sofa where I can read, watch tv, cuddle with DH, surf the internet etc. I don't find sitting in bed reading or watching tv comfortable at all.'

Than you need a new bed! Or I need a new sofa 😂

Always4Brenner · 27/12/2022 20:46

Hasn’t slept well for about 15 years I then left husband sleep well now hot water bottle in bed talking book ready cosy time for me soon night night.

DarkKarmaIlama · 27/12/2022 20:49

No I frequently have a bedgasm as soon as I get in.

Crackof · 27/12/2022 21:01

Yep 😁

Greenpolkadot · 27/12/2022 21:09

I love it too. So does DH luckily. When we have had our evening meal its snuggiess on and in bed reading or watching TV.
We are retired and in our 60,s, I'm coming out the end of the menopause so I'm past caring what anyone thinks about getting ready for bed by 5-30

We bought a new bed and mattress this year and they are very comfortable but for sleeping not sitting in to read or whatever.

That's a reason I dislike hotels because I just hate having to sit in or on the bed to watch tv or read. We have never had a tv in the bedroom in 42 years of marriage because both of us think bed is for sleeping or sex.

Our sofas are very comfortable to sit and do stuff. I can never get comfortable sitting in bed and I don't want to be laying down to read or whatever.

I obviously am very different to all the posters here. Would never in a million years want or need a hot water bottle or an electric blanket. We have a 4.5 tog duvet all year round, no radiator in our bedroom and are still too hot most nights. Oh and never wear nighties or pyjamas as dislike them. We both sleep naked

Somethingsnappy · 27/12/2022 22:37

Being in bed all cosy and snuggled up, and listening to a storm/bad weather lashing the windows, anyone?

BakersYeast · 27/12/2022 22:38

I love going to my bed. It's time for reading and looking at MN and playing Candy Crush. The rain is lashing outside tonight which makes it feel even better!

Newpuppymummy · 27/12/2022 22:39

@Somethingsnappy oh yes. Delightful

Oh I absolutely love it so much. I ask every year for a day in bed as my birthday gift. It’s my dream to spend the entire day in bed just smiling to myself.

It has never happened but i was advised last year to just spend another day in bed instead of my birthday as people just can’t accept me spending the actual birthday day in bed. So that’s the plan this year.

OldSchoolCasualty · 28/12/2022 20:48

oooh yes @Somethingsnappy in a loft room with a Velux window so it's really loud!

pompomdaisy · 28/12/2022 21:26

I'm not sure I should ache so much but once I stretch out in bed my aches disappear. I'm also a morning person and not an evening person so I love my early nights.
