Getting into bed is my favourite part of the day. Does that make my life seem sad?

Omg I was only thinking tonight about starting the very same thread re bed. I soooo look forward all day to getting into bed with a cuppa and either reading or watching a recording on my tablet.
I've def found my people

mycatsanutter · 27/12/2022 03:28

I often think this and get into bed with a big sigh and a ' aaaah yes '

CheerfulYank · 27/12/2022 03:31

I go to bed far too late…but I love it because DH is a morning person and goes early. Our downstairs is quite chilly at night and I love to go up, shivering, and crawl under the duvet where he’s sound asleep and radiating heat like a woodstove.

Newpuppymummy · 27/12/2022 09:30

So glad it’s not just me. I have clearly found my people on this thread

A wool topper, a pure down duvet and an electric blanket- it's like being enfolded by warm soft cloud. Add an audiobook and I'm in heaven; the pictures are better than on the telly.

Dotjones · 27/12/2022 10:05

Going to bed is my favourite part of the day too. There's always an element of hope, the knowledge that I might die in my sleep and never wake up. Hasn't happened so far though but I guess the odds improve slightly every night.

theonlygirl · 27/12/2022 10:07

I'm glad someone has articulated this. I bloody love it.

mydogisthebest · 27/12/2022 12:21

I am obviously odd as I think sleep is such a waste of time.

We have a lovely comfortable bed but I have to force myself to go to bed, usually around midnight. Usually up again at 7am

So many others things I would rather do - watch tv, read, surf the internet, talk to DH, jigsaws etc etc.

I don't like reading or watching tv in bed (don't have a tv in the bedroom as neither of us like watching tv in bed.

Same. I start getting antsy to be in it starting around 4:00 in the afternoon. Around 6:30 I’m running there to get peace from DD and the dogs. I think this is why I’m long term single cause I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t go to bed and get some alone time if there was a man living with me 😂

When I divorced my mother offered to buy me a single bed. Leaving aside the fact that I might have at some point needed a double bed for other than sleeping purposes, I love my double. I can spread out with magazines and books, and I can spread out when I sleep.

My ex liked us to go to bed together. At the time I thought it was quite sweet.

(Also long term single. Still don't want a single bed).

Me too op
I put a hot water bottle under my duvet to warm the bed about an hour before I go up.

So when I go to bed its so snuggly and warm ❤️🥰👌

Me too. I love sliding down in bed pushing the HWB with my feet so it's warm all the way down.

Noluthando · 26/12/2022 22:42

Me too, I love it. Peace and quiet and a break from the family! I wish I had my own bed and not have to share with my husband!

I know. I’d love my own room but not going to happen 😁. So a mega-early night with my kindle and a cuppa and fleecy hot water bottle. I’m living the dream

DifferentYearSameShit · 27/12/2022 12:51

9:15pm is my perfect part of the day. Bed, book.Bliss

Dizzywizz · 27/12/2022 12:53

YES!!! My people…I love getting into bed at the end of the day.

@Dotjones I’m sorry you feel that way. Are you getting support?

CremeEggThief · 27/12/2022 12:56

In the words of George from Seinfeld, the only thing that can get me out of bed some mornings is the thought of a nap!

ttcttc · 27/12/2022 12:57

Nope. I could live in a bedsit. If I'm not in bed I'm on it. Prefer laying on the bed to sitting on the sofa. When partner is at work I don't entertain downstairs at all

TinaTeaspoons · 27/12/2022 12:58

I dream of my bed. Count down the hours until I can get back in it.

Brainfogmcfogface · 27/12/2022 13:00

Not at all, my rich girl fantasy is a proper bed room, literally y a room that has no floor and a all bed and had things like microwave, fridge, kettle, snack cupboard even wardrobes, bookshelves etc etc built into the walls, all feathered bedding, tons of pillows and duvets.. I’d never leave

Prettypennies · 27/12/2022 13:24

I love going to bed early and co sleeping with my baby ❤️

Dailymash · 27/12/2022 13:57

Not at all! I have a good social life, a nice family, a decent job and plenty of hobbies that I can enjoy both with others and on my own.

There is no greater pleasure than getting my pyjamas on and getting into bed. I love sleeping!

RiverSkater · 27/12/2022 15:15

I used to but now I put it off as long as possible as I share bed with DP who farts and snores and keeps me awake.

I do dream of a bed and life without him in it. I have plans but they are long term due to DC and financial issues,

Always4Brenner · 27/12/2022 15:16

No I love my bed it’s so cosy love my talking books. In fact if I can’t get warm today very early night.

Bepis · 27/12/2022 15:20

I've found my people too! 😁

In fact, I'm actually still in bed now 😂 (bad night).

cptartapp · 27/12/2022 15:22

It's mine too. Most of my Christmas presents were bath stuff and pyjamas.

Puppypads · 27/12/2022 17:34

I bloody love bed. Naps too. And since my divorce I have a king size bed to myself. Utter bliss. I'm going to redecorate in 2023 to make it soft and girly and lovely. No man will sully my boudoir with snores and farts ever again!

Mumrey · 27/12/2022 17:41

My people! 8pm (book and night-time drink) for me plus I am an early riser (5.30) when it is quiet and peaceful - love it. If there is anything I want to watch, I record and watch during the day.
