That going to bed is my favourite part of the day

Getting into bed is my favourite part of the day. Does that make my life seem sad?

OldSchoolCasualty · 27/12/2022 18:02

Oh not sad at all! I spend all day look forward to tucking up under the down duvet with a metre long hot water bottle and a good book. If the OH is working late you will find me there promptly at 7pm when the little one has gone to bed!

userxx · 27/12/2022 18:03

Nope. You die in bed, the less time the better for me.

OldTinHat · 27/12/2022 18:12

I only get out of bed during the day just so I have the pleasure of getting in it again!

I have been known to be in bed at 7pm when it's cold and nothing I want to watch on TV. Tea, biscuits and a book, radio on quietly in the background and I can read for hours.

Me too, utter bliss.

ssd · 27/12/2022 18:17

I utterly love my bed. yanbu at all.

ohyouknowwhatshername · 27/12/2022 18:18

I'm another one who would like their own bedroom. I go to bed much earlier than my OH and unfortunately he often wakes me up when he gets into bed. I like to be in bed early enough to write my diary, read and relax - bliss. I like an afternoon nap too.

My bedroom is all mine, DH is an insomniac and stays downstairs doing god knows what.
i can’t sleep with him in the bed 😵‍💫
I’ve recently redecorated just for me, it’s so peaceful.

Crackof · 27/12/2022 18:28

Bed is the absolute best, and every now and again I treat myself to not getting up at all.
I read, scroll, paint and draw, do CPD reading and tube in to webinars, do all my admi. I wrote four large essays for my recent postgraduate certificate sitting in bed.
I'm like Churchill. He ran the war from his bed.
I'm not like him in other ways :)

BelenaConhamHarter · 27/12/2022 18:33

Nooooo!

I like to do it twice. Once with DS and then again a few hours later with DH. Grin

Beachbreak2411 · 27/12/2022 18:38

I love bed time. Snuggling down with book or tv; or some nights when he’s here DP. Bed time is the best!!

plominoagain · 26/12/2022 22:46

My best bit too . Actually the best by best bit is getting into bed in the morning having done the last night duty of a set of shifts , and knowing you haven't got to set an alarm to get up again 😀

Getting into bed in the morning having worked all night is delicious. You’re a different sort of tired. I used to feel really shivery and getting into an electric blanket warmed bed was just sheer bliss.

Ladyofthelake53 · 27/12/2022 18:55

Oh good im glad im not the only one, especially in winter when its cold and dark nothing i like better than going to bed with a hot water bottle, cup of tea and a book or some tv snuggling up with my dog

potatoesalad · 27/12/2022 18:58

It's almost 7pm UK time. Anyone in bed yet ? DH is out tonight. I'm considering taking a cuppa to bed with my tablet and freshly washed sheets 🤩

Comedycook · 27/12/2022 19:01

I'm exactly the same op...I absolutely love getting into bed at the end of the day especially if I have some time to watch TV before I fall asleep. I always say to dh as we get into bed that it's my favourite bit of the day. I thought everyone felt like this!

Newpuppymummy · 27/12/2022 19:03

@userxx I’d love to die in my bed in my sleep. I think it would be a lovely way to go when you consider the alternatives.

Are we unanimous?? I may've missed a page, but it seems like it.

Mybestyear · 27/12/2022 19:05

I had the most awful insomnia for well
over a decade and sometimes was in tears going to bed knowing I’d get about an hour of sleep then be up all night. Quit my job in September (after blaming insomnia on other causes) and now sleeping so well that I now LOVE going to bed ❤️ 🛌 😴

Bepis · 27/12/2022 19:06

I keep getting tempted to buy these fluffy duvet quilts I keep seeing online. Probably wouldn't even surface to go to the toilet if I had that 😂. Cut a hole in the bed so I don't have to move. DH can empty it 🤣

katepilar · 27/12/2022 19:07

Why would it be sad? I dread going to bed as I keep being disturbed and that is depressing. I would love to be able to look forward to going to bed.

I am the only poster who doesn't agree.

To me it is just such a waste of precious time

It is SUCH precious time. Quiet and calm and nice after a busy day.

Yes, but that rarely happens, you go out kicking and fighting, you'll be wishing you hadn't spent as much time practicing.

Fairislefandango · 27/12/2022 19:30

Nope. I always go to bed at a sensible hour, otherwise I'd get very tired, but I don't really want to. There are always other things I'd rather be doing!

Cheeseandlobster · 27/12/2022 19:36

excelledyourself · 26/12/2022 22:45

I love bed. And naps. I wish I could be awake to fully appreciate the enjoyment I get from them, if that makes sense

Haha. I totally totally get this 🤣

Greendoorsaremyfavourite · 27/12/2022 19:37

Me too. I go at 9ish & DH stays up to play on his computer. It's our 'me time' and I love it. I watch crap TV for an hour and just enjoy the peace.
I'd go now if I could, but it's DS bedtime first!
