To be puzzled and slightly irritated by all the people who have come to gawp at a marooned ferry.

As always on a sunday we have come out for brunch and a leisurely read of the papers. The village is packed with people the roads are jammed there is no parking and the paper shop has sold out of papers. We have just witnessed one car crash and a near miss. Our coffee bar is packed and noisy rather than having its usual laid back sunday feel. All because people have travelled for miles to see a ferry on the beach. Why?

It is a bit odd isn't it

twinsetandpearls · 03/02/2008 16:07

We had to go onto the prom to get into town and gave up, apparantly the traffic is backed up all the way to the start of the prom, about three miles.

Dp has suggested that the ferry remains then Blackpool's tourism problems wii be solved as the illuminations were never this popular.

suzycreamcheese · 03/02/2008 16:51

twinsetandpearls · 03/02/2008 17:05

I was in work on Friday and some of the kids were talking about going down an raiding the ferry! I think they thought it would be like the boats that landed on shore last year full if TVs

donbean · 03/02/2008 17:29

Glad you are feeling better twinny, we were very worried. you are a tough old bird tho, knew you could get sorted .

I often look around at the mums in the school playground and wonder...."are you a mnetter?"

twinsetandpearls · 03/02/2008 17:31

I do that too, I have my suspicions.

I spotted a mumsnet book on my ex husbands new partners bookshelf and found myself feeling very jealous in a how dare she kind of way. I don't think she is in here unless it is theboob. Shit!?

I am feeling better than I have done in a while and am easing my way back into work and even have some interviews lined up. I think tough old bird with sensitive side sums me up.

OP posts:
theboob · 03/02/2008 17:33

i find myself doing that,i have a friend who i know is a mn but she is the only one

donbean · 03/02/2008 17:33

indeed!
Is it you boob??? are you the new partner of twinnys ex???

duchesse · 03/02/2008 17:34

You should have seen all the people here this time last year all crawling over the beach picking stuff up! Rumour was that people had come from way away (and not just the national press neither) to beachcomb motorbikes. I find it odd, but I guess that where there is free anything, even entertainment, people will bowl up. And an abandoned ferry just off shore is an unusual sight, you will agree.

twinsetandpearls · 03/02/2008 17:35

I am actually quite worried as it would be just like me to completely and utterly put my foot in it.

How many kids do you have theboob ( now coming out in a cold sweat!)?

OP posts:
twinsetandpearls · 03/02/2008 17:35

More to the point is your partner a twat? You could then be she!

OP posts:

twinsetandpearls · 03/02/2008 17:55
