If you like bacon sandwiches

Then is normal to you?
Inspired by the boiled egg thread .

By default a bacon sandwich made by me means bacon between buttered...toast!

It doesn't stick to your palate and feels more substantial.
Am i right?

For me (so that means us) it's white sliced bread, medium thick (if thick/toast size the bread to bacon ratio is wrong), buttered lightly,
streaky bacon fried, so that it is crispy (but does not shatter);
I am willing to accept that colour of sauce is a personal choice.

I've got to have one tomorrow, now!

Burgoo · 22/12/2022 20:20

No. Its a toastie at best.

MajesticWhine · 22/12/2022 20:28

I lightly toast the slices of bread on one side. Agree it's more substantial when toasted and not claggy.

Mentalpiece · 22/12/2022 20:28

I prefer a bread roll for a bacon sandwich.
Sliced open and sizzled in the bacon fat, cut side down. 😋

Nah. Get with the programme:

White farmhouse bread - thick and hand slice, thin spread of very soft butter, 2 slices of crispyish back bacon, 1 slice of crispy streaky bacon laid diagonally across them. Brown sauce.

I was completely with you until you said brown sauce.
It HAS to be HP fruity sauce.
Because I said so.
So there.

ReachedTheEndofCake · 22/12/2022 20:39

@GCAcademic absolutely! Bun maska, bacon and egg naan, masala beans please!

OP - never toast.

Brown sauce with just bacon, no sauce if with an egg (and the crispiest bit lines up with the yoke for the perfect last mouthful!).

vipersnest1 · 22/12/2022 20:46

White bread.
Butter on one slice, ketchup on the other.
Reasonably crispy bacon in between (at least two rashers, but ideally three, of back bacon - unsmoked).

BashfulClam · 22/12/2022 20:48

I have never eaten a bacon sandwich. Bacon rolls though…bacon needs a roll!

susiesuelou · 22/12/2022 20:51

Thick white bread (NOT toasted), with Mayo and tomato. Basically a BLT without the "L". My absolute favourite!

Jinglebellrocks · 22/12/2022 20:53

Thick white bread toasted and buttered, lean bacon, any fat cut off and cooked until crisp on edges but meaty in middle and Ketchup....heaven.

Jinglebellrocks · 22/12/2022 20:54

I always have to make it myself as hate fatty/streaky bacon

Computersaysno123 · 22/12/2022 22:22

Ugh no way! Someone served me this once and I was SO upset (internally) I don't think I'm over it actually and it was 2 years ago

Mueslikid · 22/12/2022 22:28

Bacon fried in a pan until crispy

Soft white bread or bread roll then laid in the hot pan so one side toasts and soaks up the hot fat, the outside of the bread stays soft.

I like crispy little gem lettuce, sliced tomato and mayo in my sandwich.
But a fried egg and HP sauce are also good sometimes

FrightfullyFreezy · 22/12/2022 22:34

A white buttered breadcake with brown sauce, a soft fried egg and some salt and pepper.

Fireandflight · 22/12/2022 22:36

It has to be toast, with a thick layer of butter and crispy bacon. Culinary heaven.

SirenSays · 22/12/2022 22:43

Gigantic soft roll BLT with mayo and the bacon fat has to be removed.

MintyPrincess · 23/12/2022 13:09

I've just had a fried egg in buttered toast 😋

Wholemeal bread
Streaky bacon
NO butter

Get out.

Get out, get in the sea, keep going.

NO butter?! is traumatised 😱😂

There are so many sick trolls around these days!

Snowpaw · 23/12/2022 15:28

Bacon cooked in frying pan. Then placed into Warburtons white bread, ketchup, and then fry the sandwich in the bacon fat. There is no other option.

Daffodilis · 23/12/2022 16:46

Only on toast if is a BLT and then no butter. Otherwise on a soft white batch, crispy streaky bacon, no butter and English mustard (used to be ketchup, but my taste buds have changed)

mumda · 23/12/2022 16:52

To be honest it depends on the state of the bread. We'll eat toast if the bread is stale.
Which is why we once had corned beef on toast. And have had it half a million times since. Delicious.

Butchyrestingface · 23/12/2022 16:55

I like both/all. Smile

ThinWomansBrain · 23/12/2022 17:00

the juice/fat from the bacon isn't absorbed by toast.
If I've fried the bacon I occasionally 'fry' one side of the bread in the pan to mop up the juices,

OneTC · 23/12/2022 17:08

Unsmoked streaky, cooked crispy, thick white bread, butter, red sauce
