Stocking fillers lost in post

Hulke · 21/12/2022 09:57

Bought all my stocking fillers from one website and now confirmed they have been lost by Royal Mail (bought in mid November and other post is arriving). Left it so late to start buying more but wanted to confirm they were definitely lost as they were all things my son would have loved and a lot wouldn't be able to find on the highstreet. Now in a mad rush to get more! I know, my stupid fault for leaving it so late. Had an image in my mind of it turning up then having to return a load of stuff to multiple different stores. Any suggestions of stocking fillers for a 4yo boy that isn't just plastic stuff that'll end up broken or in landfill? Panic stations!!

What about things for the bath ? The stocking I’ve done for my DC has a couple of bath bombs and bath confetti .

Ocrumbs · 21/12/2022 10:46

Needmorelego · 21/12/2022 11:10

Bag of choc coins

Small Lego set

Bubble Bath
Bath crayons
Bath toys like ducks
Colouring book/notebook
Felt tip pens
Stickers

All which you can probably get from a large supermarket.

Hellopello · 21/12/2022 11:15

Soft ball
bubbles
mini teddy
mini favourite action figure
Bedtime story book
play dough
Thick coloured sidewalk chalk

Cattenberg · 21/12/2022 11:17

Pack of Snap cards
Metallic crayons/colouring pencils (got ours from an art shop)
Schleich animals (OK, they’re plastic, but robust)
Harmonica/wooden train whistle (if you’re brave)
Toy magnets

Cattenberg · 21/12/2022 11:20

Waterstones and Wilko have a few stocking fillers.

Bath bombs and confetti for a four year old boy? How ridiculous.

edwinbear · 21/12/2022 11:42

Bath crayons were fun at that age.
Sweets/chocolate
Can of fizzy drink he wouldn't usually be allowed
Bath bomb
That shower gel that you squirt and comes out as foam
Moon ball
Light up wheel things that clip on his bike
Glow in the dark stickers for his room
Mini lego figures

herbygarden · 21/12/2022 11:43

What about Top Trumps, my just turned five year old loves them or a Memory Game - we have bought the Where's Wally one for his stocking!

edwinbear · 21/12/2022 11:44

@YellowTreeHouse what's wrong with a bath bomb for a boy? My 13yr old DS loves a bath bomb - albeit I get him a blue/green one or one shaped like a dinosaur or similar.

Kids love bath bombs and all that shit, what's so weird about it? My DC have always had a festive bath bomb in their stocking!

welshpolarbear · 21/12/2022 11:46

My son loves bath bombs too!

OvaryActions · 21/12/2022 12:16

Yeah I'm with everyone else bath bombs are fine for a 4YO boy Xmas Confused

You can get super Mario/sweetie type ones etc in the shops..I also got some for my little boy that had a little animal toy inside that were be released once melted in the bath which he loved, although they were from Amazon.

If your son likes arts and crafts you could get some marker pens, glitter glues, rubbers, pencil sharpener and stickers etc (you could try hobbycraft for little crafty gift ideas)

Bouncy balls

A Christmas tree ornament (maybe one relating to a hobby he has..my son got a pair of ice skate tree ornament one year as he loves to skate)

Choc coins/orange/chocolate Father Christmas

Season0fTheWitch · 21/12/2022 12:17

Craft items, stickers, paint your own items (hobbycraft are good for these), pens, chocolate coins, rolled up clothes

Hulke · 21/12/2022 12:24

Thanks everyone!! And yes, bath bombs and confetti are loads of fun for a 4yo! We make our own sometimes 😁 he puts one of his little toys in the middle it's a lot of fun.

You’re the ridiculous one here.

I would go for gold coins, an orange, hot wheels car, bubbles, something for the bath, socks, a little book, a fidget type toy, a little card game like snap or happy families, new toothbrush.

girlmom21 · 21/12/2022 12:28

Definitely socks and chocolate!

Home Bargains and Card Factory are your friends here.

And people wonder why we have such a gender crisis among young teens these days.

Because we let boys have bath bombs? 🤣🤣🤣 my DD had a dinosaur bath bomb last year. Dinosaurs and bath bombs?! How can we have boys things and girls things combined?!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 21/12/2022 12:30

I can't work out if that poster is indignant at 4 year old or boy

I ageee, it’s not surprising kids are pushing back against outdated gender stereotypes so many see fit to force on them.

BrewandBiscuit · 21/12/2022 12:32

My 4yo boy has in his
2 hot wheels cars
a hot wheels monster truck

What do bath bombs have to do with the child's sex? Men bathe too 😅

You need to explain this statement (my 15 y.o.DS loves bath bombs). Is it the age or the gender or both?
