Stocking fillers lost in post

Hulke · 21/12/2022 09:57

Bought all my stocking fillers from one website and now confirmed they have been lost by Royal Mail (bought in mid November and other post is arriving). Left it so late to start buying more but wanted to confirm they were definitely lost as they were all things my son would have loved and a lot wouldn't be able to find on the highstreet. Now in a mad rush to get more! I know, my stupid fault for leaving it so late. Had an image in my mind of it turning up then having to return a load of stuff to multiple different stores. Any suggestions of stocking fillers for a 4yo boy that isn't just plastic stuff that'll end up broken or in landfill? Panic stations!!

Tinti might be a safe brand for young skin, if that's what a pp meant by mentioning age. It's for age three +. Bath bombs or fizzers.

We used to buy that as part of stocking fillers when our children were young.

BeaEvie · 21/12/2022 12:39

I see someone did actually mention gender. My apologies.

2tired2bewitty · 21/12/2022 12:41

M&S had some spider man themed bath stuff if he’s into superheroes.

I suggest the previous poster stays well away in case they spontaneously combust.

UnbeatenMum · 21/12/2022 12:49

My 3.5yo boy loves bath bombs!

I got most of his stocking from Home Bargains this year. He's got cars, marshmallow snowmen, chocolate coins, rainbow drops, panda biscuits, haribo and a bath bomb 😄. Plus a hat and gloves from Sainsbury's and a card game from the Entertainer.

UnbeatenMum · 21/12/2022 12:54

I usually put felt tips in too but he's got a lot at the moment.

Cheesecaj · 21/12/2022 12:57

Crayons / pencils/ felt tips / watercolours
Bath bombs
Fluffy socks
Chocolate coins
Orange or chocolate orange
Stickers
Hot wheels car
Pot of play doh
Fun plasters
Lego poly bag
Milkshake straws

Lots of fun things that you can get from a large supermarket !

KindergartenKop · 21/12/2022 12:57

Go to a pound shop.

Cheesecaj · 21/12/2022 12:58

Poundland had some fun slime dinosaur bath bombs! I have got mine some. Possibly still have them !

Bath bombs and confetti for a four year old boy? How ridiculous.

My DS loves a bath bomb! Asks for one on his fc list every year.

BrewandBiscuit · 21/12/2022 12:32

My 4yo boy has in his
2 hot wheels cars
a hot wheels monster truck
a torch
gel pens
chocolate

i do like the idea of bath crayons though…

Bath crayons are horrid for your grout if you have tiles. Learnt that the hard way.

Jelli baff is a good non staining alternative.

JimBell · 21/12/2022 13:06

I wonder how many people have decided they are trans because their parents put a bath bomb in their bath when they were 4 years old. I'm going to guess none

TheOpportuneMoment · 21/12/2022 13:09

My 4yo DS has got...

Sticker book
Bubble wand
Hot wheels cars
Socks
Chocolate coins
Junior Uno
Wooly hat
Bath bomb
Chocolate reindeer
Fidget toy
Spider man toothbrush
Fart cushion
Bath toy
One of those foam aeroplane things
Gardening gloves
Mix of dry ingredients to make a chocolate mug cake

Fucking idiot 😂😂

Tiredmum100 · 21/12/2022 13:57

Oh I do wish some one had told me a few years ago that bath bombs were no good for boys 🙄.

I've bought my ds bath bombs already this year, and gifted them to two other boys I buy for. Is it to late to get them back 🤦‍♀️

caringcarer · 21/12/2022 14:06

Harmonica.
Top Trumps.
Shut the box wooden easy game at Sainsbury's.
Wooden dominoes.
Toy cars. Asda do a nice box of them.
Selection pack
Books.

caringcarer · 21/12/2022 14:07

Matey bubble bath. Great as it cleans bath too.

And people wonder why we have such a gender crisis among young teens these days.

Hahaha this is amazing. All these boys wondering if they're girls because of bath bombs 😂

On a side note, I do get confused by people not being able to fill a stocking for small children. They like pretty much anything! I'd happily do your 5 year olds stocking next year if you do my 17 and 18 year olds 😁

I find it really hard to think of nice things I can put in there that aren't plastic toys or things he already has. Just nice to get some ideas.

My nephews are one and four and they’re obsessed with bath bombs! Not ridiculous at all 🙄

I had a panic yesterday because my daughter fell over and got dirty, managed to get her clean quickly, so I lessened her chances of being trans, but it was close.

Thankfully my sons hate washing, could you imagine what it would be like if I allowed them both to bathe.

Baconand · 21/12/2022 14:47

DD is 3 but she has things mainly from
The Works, Boots and Amazon:

Squirty coloured foam soap
Bubble bath in a snow globe
Magnifying glass
Hairclips and a new brush
Mini books box set (Fireman Sam)
Another book she likes from a series
Bubble wand
Chocolate coins

Baconand · 21/12/2022 15:05

But obvs don’t get him hairclips, that could cause all sorts of mayhem with his identity. I’m risking it with Fireman Sam and a tow truck for a GIRL. Heavens

RainbowPhilosophy · 21/12/2022 15:05

Mine is 5 and definitely likes a bath bomb. I got him a Spiderman bath set last year when he was 4 which had a bath bomb, those dissolvable crystals and bath slime - he thought it was great! This year he has a rainbow one; have a field day with that one if you think boys don't like these things 😂

For the stocking fillers I'd suggest:
Lego minifigures
Blind bag on a theme he likes
Slime or Gelli baff
Pens - I bought one of those retro ones where you select from about 20 different colour biros as I remember liking mine as a child!
Colour changing cars
Action figure e.g. his favourite superhero
Keyring to go on school bookbag or nursery bag
Mini lego or meccano set
Kaleidoscope
Magnifying glass
Sticker book
"Finding" book - like Where's Wally but with his favourite characters
Poppit
Small soft toy
Annual
