Love the detectorists. One of the most funny and underrated comedies out there.

SavoirFlair · 19/12/2022 19:25

My goodness, have you thrown up a flare or asked anyone in the health service to check on him?

he has always been thin in frame and face.

YABU by the way..: what is your AIBU @Lulu1919 ?

Eselch · 19/12/2022 19:28

He’s always looked like that?

SquatBetty · 19/12/2022 19:30

He's always been very gaunt looking. Love Detectorists too, and his take on Worzel Gummidge

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 19/12/2022 19:32

@TildaRae yiou know there's a Christmas special this year?

Mackenzie Crook has always been very thin and gaunt.

He’s always looked thin and frail.

I might be the only person in the world to hate The Detectorists. DP says that I’ve got no soul. He could be right.

XenoBitch · 19/12/2022 19:33

That is how he has always looked. And getting older will accentuate those features.

BestIsWest · 19/12/2022 19:35

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Shock

Sparklingbrook · 19/12/2022 19:35

Whenever there’s just a sleb name as a thread title I think they’ve died and someone was in a rush to be the first thread to announce it. Pleased to find he hasn’t.

ScarierThanBoo · 19/12/2022 19:37

I'm annoyed that nobody mentioned Pirates of the Caribbean, he was smashing in that. Detectorists is great and hilarious but come on people.

ShinyPikachu · 19/12/2022 19:38

After the other thread I was just reading I was expecting this to be a sex dream one. Blush

Lanty · 19/12/2022 19:38

Mackenzie Crook is my 'I have no idea why I fancy you, but I do' person 🫢

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/12/2022 19:40

@BestIsWest You know from the 50 books threads that I’m an awkward old sod! 😂😜

Same. I'm glad he is still alive. Love the guy ❤️

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/12/2022 19:40

Does he lose his glass eye in Pirates? I like that bit!

IamEarthymama · 19/12/2022 19:43

Is there a Worzel Gummidge Christmas special this year?
I absolutely love him as Worzel 💖
And I think his name is excellent.

Agree 100% there , wonderful programme and very well written

Haveahappyholiday · 19/12/2022 19:45

Yes that’s part of his appeal isn’t it?

PickledRat · 19/12/2022 19:49

He has always been scrawny, that was partly why his territorial army ambitions in the office were so funny. It’s not like he has suddenly lost loads of weight!

BellePeppa · 19/12/2022 19:52

What are you watching? Is it current or old? He’s always been rake thin.

ClaireEclair · 19/12/2022 19:55

Was this on the One Show? I think he’s just uncomfortable being interviewed. He seems like a lovely man. The Detectorists is a brilliant tv show. Looking forward to the Christmas special.
