A straight, white couple falling in love.
Even if that isn't the central theme it's shoehorned in somewhere and as a non-white lesbian it's beginning to ruin---- my cheesy Christmas dim viewing.
Please prove to me that I am being unreasonable by suggesting some films that don't contain straight, white couples falling in love? Xmas Grin

Single All the Way on Netflix is an interracial gay couple realising they are in love.

Brunilde · 15/12/2022 17:00

Happiest Season has a lesbian couple as the main couple. Can't remember if there were other couples but certainly not the main focus. Not a great film though, sorry

WeDontNeedToTalkAboutJamie · 15/12/2022 17:00

Your Christmas or Mine on Prime.
They are straight, and he's white. But she's not.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/12/2022 17:00

Watch the cheesy films on Channel 5 (daily). Quite a percentage of them have POC as the main characters.
(This does not make the films any good, but still...!)

ChessieFL · 15/12/2022 17:01

Home Alone - no romance there!

DashboardConfessional · 15/12/2022 17:02

Boxing Day - 2021. Straight, but not white. I think the main character's family is British-Carribean.

KitchiHuritAngeni · 15/12/2022 17:04

I wouldn't agree with the straight white couple thing, but they ALL have important paperwork of some description that needs to be signed 🤣

Autumnnewname · 15/12/2022 17:17

I've literally just watched a film on channel 5 with the lead romance between a mixed race couple

With a gay couple in the same film

MonkeyPuddle · 15/12/2022 17:19

Last holiday. Main character is a black woman.

icanwearwhatiwant · 15/12/2022 17:20

Brilliant, I'm starting a list now!

I do loathe the home alone films though I'm afraid so that won't be a solution 🤪😆

Mmm there's a definite formula!
It also starts snowing prettily near the end of the film but without causing any actual problems.

I was also going to suggest Single All the Way and Happiest Season! I liked Happiest Season, but I loved Single All the Way. There really doesn't seem to be that many, though that isn't about a straight, white couple.

GreenCat44 · 15/12/2022 18:27

I watched Noelle on Disney+ the other day. No romance at all, I was quite surprised 😂

NooNakedJacuzziness · 15/12/2022 18:32

Muppet Christmas Carol

Knackeredmommy · 15/12/2022 18:41

This Christmas with Idris Elba and Best Man holiday with Morris Chestnut don't

Hyggeandhugs · 17/12/2022 19:32

And every cheesy Hallmark/Netflix/Prime Christmas movie seems to feature at least one dead parent!!

xogossipgirlxo · 17/12/2022 19:35

“This Christmas” I think it was on netflix. Quite nice movie about complicated relationships in family.

RobinHumphries · 17/12/2022 19:37

A Christmas Number One

Prettyinpink22 · 17/12/2022 19:39

Last Christmas 🎄

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 17/12/2022 19:41

Jingle Jangle on Netflix.

IAmTheFire · 17/12/2022 19:41

Bad Santa. Shagging, no love.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 17/12/2022 19:42

The Polar Express

CitronVert22 · 17/12/2022 19:42

The Princess Switch films (Netflix) the American bloke is mixed race

Blinkingheckythump · 17/12/2022 19:42

Lily and dash, she's mixed race. Although it's a short series.

Single all the way is good too.

But clearly you have horrific taste as you don't like home alone!

A lot of kids Xmas films aren't centered around romance

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 17/12/2022 19:42

Does anyone fall in love in Die Hard?
