Shrimps & Bananas

GellerYeller · 13/12/2022 22:41

@HRTQueen Toffee Crumble ice creams! I’d forgotten those.

OvaryActions · 13/12/2022 22:58

Ooh I always think about these sweets my dad used to give me when I was little!
They were the same shape as mentos but they were red and they were also hard, not chewy!

I loved them so much but don't know what they are 😭

ThisOneIsHardWork · 13/12/2022 23:00

Fizzy jerkz!

pigonalipstick · 13/12/2022 23:14

Sour damsons. And no where sells them any more *stamps foot.

jazzybelle · 13/12/2022 23:18

Think you can still get chocolate limes.

CockSpadget · 13/12/2022 23:28

GellerYeller · 13/12/2022 19:37

Cola bottles when they were flatter and longer and not all squat and square like now!
Sherbet pips/Tom Thumb drops
Lion Sportmix or midget gems when the black sweets were still liquorice flavour
Choc limes
Blackcurrant and liquorice
Floral Gums
Milk chews
Spangles(remember old English flavour- they were all brown?!)
Double Agents-a tube of sherbet filled round boiled sweets. Toffee apple or strawberry and cream!

We have identical tastes in sweets! You have picked everything I would, especially the original flat cola bottles and liquorice midget gems. The new style midget gems are dogdirt.
I would also add in fruit polos, even though they used to take the roof of my mouth off I ate that many.

GellerYeller · 13/12/2022 23:39

@CockSpadget spooky-I’ve got some Fruit Polos in my handbag!

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 13/12/2022 23:43

Pear drops
Those candy cigarettes that are frowned upon now
Foam bananas
Sweet peanuts
Yorkshire mix
Liquorice all sorts

summer788 · 13/12/2022 23:43

Ohh I loved those cinnamon fireballs

Cherry drops?

LizzyELane · 13/12/2022 23:49

Spangles, Blobs and Sweet Peanuts when they had real peanuts inside.

Thursa · 13/12/2022 23:58

Parma Violets
Crispets
Chocolate limes

little, round caramel balls covered thickly in icing sugar type stuff, can’t remember the name of those.

little round cracker/biscuits with an iced swirl on top, can’t remember their name either.

And now I want to visit a quarterof.co.uk, and make a massive order that would cost a fortune in postage…

Lysianthus · 14/12/2022 00:07

Pacers and Moose bars

neighboursmustliveon · 14/12/2022 04:07

Aniseed twists and black jacks.

AWaferThinMint · 14/12/2022 06:34

Aniseed balls.

Rhubarb and custard

Licorice wheels

OvaryActions · 14/12/2022 07:29

@Stickytoastandhoney "Cherry drops?"

No they weren't a fruity type of sweet 🤔

Bon bons??

flinginflangin · 14/12/2022 07:39

Jolly Ranchers that were really fruity, not the American version you find in shops today. They came in a blue oblong pack and were tangy orange, apple, cherry and watermelon flavour. They were so popular at one time and were the taste of my childhood but can't find them anywhere now!
