I remember my family first meeting her and being incredibly impressed. Some of them didn’t quite know what to do with themselves

Its not plausible that his family, given who they are, would ‘not know what to do with themselves’ due to the intelligence and beauty of someone they were being introduced to. No sensible person would believe this could be true. The fact that he thinks this way shows how enthralled and delusional he is.

Did Harry say this? That's laughable. M is very beautiful and seems intelligent, but so are a huge proportion of British upper class private school girls - their social circle - although maybe the intelligent ones didn't want anything to do with Harry.

Janieread · 13/12/2022 08:14

No it wasn't 😂

I enjoy the irony of people picking everything they say and framing it in the worst possible light while simultaneously slating them for doing the same.

I also enjoy the irony of all the hatred which, of course, makes then infinitely more profitable and therefore richer.

It's very funny.

I'm not making them richer. I don't even have Netflix 😂

TirisfalPumpkin · 13/12/2022 08:18

I think they ran out of royal tea some time ago and it’s just going to be rehashed stuff we already know + therapy language + home videos.

I don’t think it’ll be affair - they are probably having to be extra careful not to say anything defamatory that they can’t prove.

You are if you are out here yammering on about them particularly if it's very emotive.

It's not a case of you, as an individual, watching Netflix. It's a case of broader publicity. Click bait, rage views, etc. It all pushes their value up. It's like how Kim Kardashians sex tape propelled her to huge levels of celebrity despite hardly anybody actually watching it.

Don't be daft. Discussing someone negatively on social media doesn't automatically make them richer financially. And so what if H and M do manage to grub around making millions of the back of being disliked? That's their choice, they have to live with the outcome.

piedbeauty · 13/12/2022 08:24

His actions? Or Williams and Charles? What about his children?

Well, so far he hasn't said what they fell out over or what the row was about, so we can't judge. All families argue. I'd like to hear Charles or William's POV on all that has happened, for balance, but that won't happen.

do you not see this for what it is? A young boy has been seriously messed up for life because of the family he was born into, the death of his mother and how he had to put the needs of the public above his own after his mothers death?

Harry is 35 now. Everything he has been able to do in life is because of who he was born - an accident of birth. He has lived a life of enormous privilege and wealth, yet he doesn't focus on that; it's all about who did him wrong. He can afford counselling; you'd have thought that he would have come to terms with his life by now and be able to look forward, not back.

He had to read about every little thing between his parents and watch both his parents suffer.
Yes, both his parents handled their relationship breakdown extremely badly. But that's was down to them.

he should never have had to go through any of that.
William went through the same, and doesn't feel the need to keep whingeing about it to the world.

if Harry wants to move away with his wife and do a documentary in his own words then why not?
Because, like I said, it will be damaging the next generation of children - and that's selfish and hypocritical, considering his complaints about the RF's actions damaging him.

You don’t have to watch
if you care about the younger children royals then stop buying the media that tears the rf down when they feel like and respect their privacy

@Whoopsywoo - woah!! Lots of assumptions there. Calm down.

NewStartIn50s · 13/12/2022 08:24

Isn't it horrid that H feels the need to stab W in the back and tell these things about W. Why does H feel the need to attack his older brother so much. What is he gaining from it apart from money and tv time of course.

Couldn't have said it better.

I don’t disagree BUT Netflix is a media outlet. And the media is dangerous (we’ve seen it provoke actions by people that result in actual bodily harm - think Trump) and this will be a flag that their lives are open season to them.

AND, the big one, he wouldn’t be rich without the media. I get the impression, they like nice things.

No, it doesn't automatically do that. However you can harness that divisive publicity into a series of multimillion pound media ventures that are carefully framed to magnify all those emotive opinions thus continuing the cycle.

And so what if H and M do manage to grub around making millions of the back of being disliked?

Well, yes, good for them. Like I said I just enjoy the irony of the people who supposedly hate them delivering exactly what they want and need. It's hilarious.

😂

William should do a drill diss rap on his bro' that would upset the apple cart and maybe co-opt Stormzy or some such. One imagines.....

Dulcetto · 13/12/2022 08:29

I’m fairly agnostic to the whole drama but did watch it out of curiosity. What’s clear (and despite some fake footage), is the Royal Family are considered fair game for media intrusion to a whole other level. It’s high time proper laws were put in place to curb the tabloids behaviour - towards lots of people not just the RF.

cyrila · 13/12/2022 08:30

Everything is exaggerated. Not just 'thrown to the wolves' but 'fed to the wolves'. I remember Meghan saying that she wouldn't be able to take Archie to school in the UK because there would be photographers everywhere every day. That just isn't true for the royal children. We see photos of George, Charlotte etc on their first day at school, photos are released on birthdays etc and in return they are largely left alone. They are victims of their own imagination half the time and the reality is that Meghan loves the limelight (although I don't think Harry sees that) and Harry doesn't. You can see in the series how much she loves the camera and that's fair enough. She's an actress, it's what she does. I can't see her wanting to give it up.

TinyChancer · 13/12/2022 08:33

Not RTFT but I suspect it is to do with Kate and the bridesmaid dresses - who made who cry. Meghan did make a point of bringing that up in the Oprah interview and she says in the trailer that she 'was being fed to the wolves'.
My guess is an attack on Kate about who made who cry. There were rumours all over the papers about it so that will come under their 'leaking' argument. Also they might refer to the split of their communications teams as it was pretty obvious the comms team couldn't work for two sides with different views.

piedbeauty · 13/12/2022 08:36

If all this fuss really is over the BM dress, then H&M should lose any remaining credibility they have. When planning a wedding, emotions are high and people fall out. All the time. Normal people then get over it and move on. But H&M seem to have taken carrying a grudge to an Olympic level.

It feels more than a tad disingenuous to complain about this from the tabloid press and then construct first an interview and then a TV series from faked footage backed up with lies and innuendo. The Netflix drama has even cropped the late Queen’s promise of service and allegiance speech to feed the racist narrative. It’s become very ugly now.

Incrementally it does in this case. If no one clicked these threads or all the multiple links out there about them, Netflix / Spotify wouldn't be giving them the deals. The media follows the interest and rewards that financially.

I’m not commenting on H&Ms actions, merely that press intrusion has reached such levels (for them and lots of other people), there are virtually no laws to stop it. What came out in tabloids about them could be fake; what they’re saying on Netflix could be fake - who knows? No regulation whatsoever which is highly concerning as anyone can say pretty much anything.

Oh well shrug
I guess they have to earn a buck somehow and this is how they've chosen to do it.

After watching the documentary and seeing William, Harry, Eugenia and Beatrice, when just children, lining up for a photo shoot, I’m more convinced than ever that even arranged photo shoots are just plain wrong. The children do not want to be doing it. Little Beatrice was grimacing trying to smile. All the kids were trying their best but none looked truly happy. It struck me as cruel. It’s a really bad look for the Royal Family.

cyrila · 13/12/2022 08:48

I heard a rumour from someone connected with royal circles (but the Queen's household, not William and Catherine's) some time ago that the relationship between the two couples broke down when Kate came across Meghan filming. I can't remember now whether she was filming in Kate's home or filming Kate's children. It was a while ago and I didn't think much about it. And of course I'm not sure if it's true, but given the amount of footage they have it seems possible.

It’s Harry who is the Prince of Pegging.

They’ve said Harry proposed to Meghan while she was ‘roasting a chicken’.

He must have been very impressed with her moves.
