Just that !
In the trailers for the next Harry / Meghan Netflix , Harry talks about how Courtiers lied to protect William .
Hmmmm - what could he gave done that needed lies told to us ?

Apparently it is the press.
The audio says ‘they lie to protect my brother’ or whatever, but apparently the subtitles say ‘the British press lie to protect my brother’

I just saw a clip about it on YouTube, think it was from sky news?

This. There’s two clips from Netflix. One with a shot of Buckingham palace saying “they lie to protect my brother “ so the insinuation is it’s the royal family or at least courtiers.

but the full clip he says it’s the press.

how nasty of Netflix to make it seem worse than it is. But Harry and Meghan are allowing this and are complicit.

CocoLux · 13/12/2022 06:48

There won't be any specifics. They're big on vague accusations and innuendo.

PurpleFlower1983 · 13/12/2022 06:51

Definitely the affair, it was all over the world news but not reported in Britain.

MistletoeandBaileys · 13/12/2022 06:52

Who knows if the affair rumours are true but if they are I don’t think it’s Lady Rose. I always thought she was a convenient scapegoat to that story.

Is it true that after this documentary Harry wanted to reconcile with his family? If I was Charles or William I would shut the doors there forever.

Not to mention he clearly has no thought at all for his niece and nephews right to privacy. In order to secure his Netflix payday he is throwing his brother and his young families lives to the press for fodder.

And tightsgate irritates me. Such a non issue but Kate wasn’t long after having Louis during this time so her emotions were probably all over the place.

I don’t think he realises how badly this is all going to backfire on him in particular.

CocoLux · 13/12/2022 06:53

They've got exactly what they want, which is people (us) talking about it and speculating. It'll be a big load of nothing, just lots of 'I was fed to the wolves, poor me, everyone is so horrid (but no I'm not giving up my titles)'.

CoffeeBoy · 13/12/2022 06:55

Im sure i heard him say they did go to the family for help.

yes and we’ve also heard them both say stuff which has been proven to be untrue. It’s like the boy who cried wolf, they lie, they misdirect and now I can’t believe anything either of them say.

Mistonthemountains · 13/12/2022 06:57

PeekAtYou · 12/12/2022 20:43

I think it will be the tights story as people like Tom Bowers have resurrected it after the Oprah interview. Don't think pegging will be mentioned 😂

😂😂😂

CanStopWillStop · 13/12/2022 07:06

sausage767 · 13/12/2022 00:34

Newsflash.. that’s not what pegging is.

me not knowing the “ins and outs” of pegging isn’t the own you think it is baha. Please do share what he’s been up to… you evidently seem to know more about it 😂

It is exactly what you have to expect. It'll a become clear once it airs, but of course they'll create mystery and intrigue with carefully clipped shots for the teaser. They want you to tune in. Every programme does it.

I'm not sure if H&M realise it. You'd think they'd know how the press works. But ever since they mentioned the senior royal who made a comment about Archie's skin colour, and only later realised that people would wonder if it was the Queen or Prince Philip, I've wondered. How could you not realise that people were going to speculate??

Didn’t he specifically say on Oprah he didn’t ask for help from his family. Because he was embarrassed

FancyFanny · 13/12/2022 07:19

The lie will not be about any affairs because why would the press need to lie about that? They could just choose not to report it. It will most likely be something of nothing, blown out of all proportion to sound far more dramatic than it actually is. And exactly why can't Harry correct the lie? Probably because it's something that will make him look even more petty and stupid.

Mygirlruby · 13/12/2022 07:25

FWIW I like Harry and Meghan, or what I see/know of them. Shock/horror, I also like William and Kate, in the way that anyone forms opinions of people they don't actually know.
It's possible to like them both, it doesn't have to be a competition!!

KaleToChristmas · 12/12/2022 22:13

Nasty comment.

I agree it's nasty, however Harry said it himself in the Netflix show,

"I remember my family first meeting her and being incredibly impressed. Some of them didn’t quite know what to do with themselves.

“Because, I think, they were surprised. They were surprised that 'a ginger' could land such a beautiful woman and such an intelligent woman,” the red-haired prince said.

A bit of nasty shade on his ex girlfriends too.

He really appears totally insecure which has turned him into someone who makes pretty nasty comments, or maybe he was always like that and the press protected him.

Changeyncchange · 13/12/2022 07:31

I enjoy the irony of people picking everything they say and framing it in the worst possible light while simultaneously slating them for doing the same.

I also enjoy the irony of all the hatred which, of course, makes then infinitely more profitable and therefore richer.

It's very funny.

Morestrangethings · 13/12/2022 07:37

sausage767 · 13/12/2022 04:25

None of what you’ve quoted mentions her race.

I don’t know the suburbs or areas mentioned, I think a Crip is a gang, but I don’t know if Crips are black, white or purple. From that article I’d assume it was implying Meghan was from ‘the wrong side of the tracks’, but not that she was black.

Okay, from the SAME article:

Mistaken: Markle, who is mixed race, once wrote about how her darker-skinned mom would be mistaken for her nanny - something Harry would never have experienced.

But you know, I would have just looked the article by typing into google : Daily Mail, 2 November 2016, straight outta Compton.

Jaxinthebox · 13/12/2022 07:38

For a couple who wanted a private life, they go above and beyond the stir the press pot! I wish they would just live their life and shut the f up.

Gotta love that 😂

For the millionth time, they didn't

they go above and beyond the stir the press pot! I wish they would just live their life and shut the f up.

You posting on threads about them won't encourage that. If people didn't click the links, Netflix/global media wouldn't be interested in them.

sausage767 · 13/12/2022 05:50

@Talia99 sorry that was another posted who originally quoted that article.

I was 60 when they printed that article. I never read it, but heard some newspaper had printed ‘straight outta Compton.’ I’m Australian, white, and had never heard the song (that I can remember), don’t listen to rap but I knew what they meant. I’m pretty switched on though.

Coxspurplepippin · 13/12/2022 07:46

With regard to the ridiculous pegging story, who would tell about that? The other party? Obviously not because it's going to make them look ridiculous. It's made up bollocks - it appeared in a vapid US celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi and went viral.

There have been plenty of embarrassing stories published about the RF over the years - tampongate anyone? And as for misogynistic crap, does anyone remember Koo Stark? She actually won damages against the mail for their lies.

I have no idea how you made that into a nasty comment. He was big upping his wife in relation to himself. Not slagging off his ex girlfriends. Good grief.

I agree and feel the same. I like both of them - as much as it’s possible to like people I don’t know.. Neither couple has done anything, as far as I know, that would cause me to actively dislike them.

Yeah me too. Whenever I have watched anything about them (whether by them or by someone else) I warm to them. I think Meghan was naive but I like the American wtf response to some of the more bizarre traditions. It’s not an aggressive response.

I am always struck by how horrendous & warped the press are. The Diana years footage is something else. I knew that after her death they did a deal to try & protect the children with the occasional staged photo in return for being left alone but the footage of William, Harry, Beatrice & Eugenie stumbling up through the snow and the anger that Harry felt about that made me realise that even that was damaging.

I used to hate seeing the footage of Siri Cruise btw - it was similar - walls of photographers & was always pleased Katie Holmes got her away from that.

I’m not particularly a royalist. I think there are questions to be asked about the size & cost, and am pleased the King wants it skimmed down. But by god the privilege comes at huge cost. I do think both Harry & Meghan want to have an impact - she was moving towards activism before meeting him. I think they were a great loss to the royal family tbh. They could both have been a glitzy, warmer princess Anne. And because they chose to walk away they now get the full unhinged tabloid treatment.

PinkTonic · 13/12/2022 08:09

Its not plausible that his family, given who they are, would ‘not know what to do with themselves’ due to the intelligence and beauty of someone they were being introduced to. No sensible person would believe this could be true. The fact that he thinks this way shows how enthralled and delusional he is.
