I was speaking to a MALE colleague today who said he wouldn’t date a woman past 33 as their looks decline. I was furious but I didn’t say anything, some of the most beautiful women I know are much older than that, he was early thirties himself, what a pig!

YANBU to be annoyed. It's rude.

YABU that you didn't even question this or challenge him on it. I'm not saying start a huge verbal match with a work colleague but there's no harm in actually telling him you find that really offensive/rude to make such a sweeping statement.

On a side note, would you want to date this guy before he made this comment? My response would have been more along the lines of good luck finding someone under 33 that wants to date you 😂

Men like this really piss me off no end. They feel it ok to criticise women’s appearances whilst being no oil painting themselves. Proves the male superiority complex is still alive and kicking. Hope he grows old lonely.

@Boobas Why are you so het up about it? People have different opinions/beliefs and views. That is perfectly fine. Unless you want to get with him I don't see why it's any of your concern/business.

The fact he is living in your head over this sounds like its more a you problem than a him problem. People will ALWAYS be idiots. Learn to accept that the world is full of them and you will likely feel better.

I'm not really sure what your being offended has to do with anything. I suspect he says this type of shit to get a rise out of people.

Interestingly evolutionarily we go for people who are youthful because we need to keep our genes going. Its sad that this chap still thinks like an ape though

I don't think it is a woman issue. I think it is a narcissism and superiority issue. He thinks he can and will get with some stunner who will never age. It is a sign of immaturity. We all get saggy, flabby and die.

In his head, he probably thinks this makes him sound like he has the confidence to attract insanely beautiful women and then drop them when they no longer attract him enough. The reality is that he’s got a massive ego, a shit personality and is likely to end up very unhappy. Let him crack on!

While there are some lovely looking older women about, he is right...by 33 we do start to lose our looks slowly.

He probably wasn't wise to voice it, but I wouldn't give it a second thought (unless i fancied him). He's entitled to think what he wants.

I'm 53 and it wouldn't bother me. I can say with confidence that the chances that he would want to date me are far higher than the other way round.
