That people shouldn't start threads they can't deal with?

Just that really - too many threads that people have to have moved / deleted because they don't care for the replies! Happens too often and makes posting replies a waste of time Hmm!

OP posts:

Why isn’t your vote on? Couldn’t handle it?

Lol 😂 brilliant.

I will say that quite a few people have TERRIBLE reading comprehension. The OP will write a shortish post which will include a few pertinent facts, like she needs to speak with her brother but he won’t have his mobile on him and a bunch of people will write something like “Well I would just ring him on his mobile!”.

I can understand missing something if someone has written a massive, complicated wall of text but it’s surprising how many people can’t be arsed to read a 4 line OP. Particularly as MN tends to attract reasonably educated people.

People don't know they "can't deal with" the replies until they, well, see the replies 😂
So they post not knowing what they are going to get by way of replies and when people are plain nasty and unpleasant they quite understandably just want it to stop. I think that's fair enough. 🤷‍♀️

Exactly. They will post to say their opinion or whatever and have no idea that everyone will say they are wrong.

True but then sometimes the title bears no relation to the post. In this example : 'should I call my brother on his mobile?'
