Show off your new £400 shoes on social media when you’re setting up an online auction to raise funds for your loss of earnings while your child has therapy? Not to mention there’s also an online fundraiser under way currently sitting at five figures.

It'll be £800 Tiffany earrings next (another grifter)

Glittertwins · 10/12/2022 12:55

Where is she going to wear these shoes? No point having them if you have no where to go / no money to wear them anywhere deserving of them or will the begging bowl be out for some treat nights?
I'm not fundamentally against spending this amount on shoes but I don't do it when money is needed elsewhere.

Maybe they were a gift from someone?

Keyansier has a habit of posting unpopular opinions on Mumsnet.
Or maybe she is the person the OP is referring to.

She always takes against the OP, whatever the circumstances. Their life must be so boring.

BadNomad · 10/12/2022 13:13

Keyansier is a man fyi.

Au contraire, (see wot I did there?) it is packed with incident.

Just ask him about the shop assistant who neglected to ask a 28 year old man for Age ID ...

The PP seems perfectly capable of creating a life full of melodrama, & I suspect that is the root of their deliberately contrarian & combative stance.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 10/12/2022 13:46

Disagree with @cherriegarcia. £400 on shoes is way more than a 'treat', come on.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah. Makes sense. 😆 A man who trawls Mumsnet being a contrary dickhead, be still my beating fanny.

Not in the UK so I don’t know tax implications but healthcare is government funded. Child/teen has received excellent care, made a good recovery but as yet unclear whether it will be a full one. Family is now home. Online fundraiser is still ongoing, I’ve heard nothing to say the Facebook action will not go ahead.
We were friends, met many years ago and they lived with us whilst house hunting. We are only acquaintances now, and have been for a few years.

I have to admit now that I don’t know the shoes were brand new. If they weren’t I wish she would have said so while people were commenting and she was replying. So I might be wrong in that part. I do think she should have been more discreet, especially as she was also bidding on items on a completely unrelated fundraiser as I mentioned earlier.

Yes terrible but sad if money raised directly helps the daughter and people don’t donate
