Death penalty for dog poo

I am 100% against the death penalty, however I am willing to reconsider my position for people who leave dog shit on pavements. In the last two weeks, I have had to scrape shit out of pram tyres, toddler shoes and kid shoes. I don’t own a dog!
I fantasise about bringing these bastards to justice aibu?

I wouldn't have the death penalty (if it came back I'd start with Boris Johnson), but it is now about 40 years since the dog licence was abolished without any replacement. A simple dog registration scheme and responsibilities.

So people who don't pick up dog mess can ultimately have their dog taken into a rescue centre and re-homes.

I would include the “shoes on” fanatics who insist on traipsing round the house in their shoes, because it’s “more hygienic”.

dog shit off the streets all over the carpets 👍

Mirrorcell · 10/12/2022 09:38

It’s also the owners who walk ahead and pretend not to notice or who are throwing a ball when their dog shits 100 metres away and then say ‘I’ll pick it up in a minute’. Yeah right course you will!

I think the council could make a lot of money from dog poo fines.

Westfacing · 10/12/2022 09:59

Even if the shit is picked up I'd advocate life in prison for poops in an inappropriate space.

I was in Peter Jones last week, late morning, not too busy but counted 5 dogs trotting around nicely with their owners - since when were non-assistance dogs allowed in stores?

On the way out at the main doors there was a dog doing its big business as shoppers were going in and out and trying to avoid - it was outside the doors but in the recess not on the pavement. Just unacceptable.

This reminds me of a post on here from someone whose hedge was being filled with those little bags of dog poo. During lockdown she was home when she saw the culprit in the act, so she followed her home and posted all the bags through her letterbox. That deterred her from ever doing it again! 🤣

Westfacing · 10/12/2022 10:23

What is it with the hanging of the bags - is it some sort of compulsion? I really can't understand why if you CBA to find a bin just drop it in the gutter/pavement, not in someone's hedge!

Crunchymum · 10/12/2022 10:26

Big dog shit problem where I am. Thing is the type of people who actually leave the dog shit aren't the type of people you can 'politely ask to pick up their mess'. I've been called a cunt before for daring to ask someone in a public park to clean up after their dog. 😔

I remember having to scrap it off pram tyres at 9.30pm one Christmas night. We'd walked home from family and rolled through dog shit. I was hopping mad.

I fantasise about winning the lottery and becoming some kind of vigilante superhero who patrols the streets and tasers people who leave their dog shit.

Probably someone who’s been screamed at for putting it in a wheely bin 😂

i have no issue, it’s a bin, dump your little baggies in. But apparently some people have a huge issue with this, so I think the baggies are hung with the intention of colllecting on way back, then they don’t

Florenz · 10/12/2022 10:56

They should bring back the dog license. And shut down the unlicensed dog breeders. Actually shut down ALL dog breeders. There are enough dogs in the country already without intentionally breeding more.

Saz12 · 10/12/2022 11:01

Could we also station snipers around roads to shoot people who throw rubbish from car windows?

Many of us “shoes on” don’t have carpets on our ground floor, can also live in an area where dog poo is nowhere near as bad as some of you have it and it takes less than 5 minutes to clean outdoor gunk from a vinyl or wood floor.

BasiliskStare · 11/12/2022 13:54

@stuntbubbles - that is a fair point . I have said to some - can you take that home with you when they very carefully bag it , then very carefully just leave it by a tree. We have similar fines but no-one enforcing them - I give you that wholeheartedly
