Death penalty for dog poo

Bobblemymind · 09/12/2022 22:02

I am 100% against the death penalty, however I am willing to reconsider my position for people who leave dog shit on pavements. In the last two weeks, I have had to scrape shit out of pram tyres, toddler shoes and kid shoes. I don’t own a dog!
I fantasise about bringing these bastards to justice aibu?

@Beginningless i like your idea but I like the idea of being put in the stocks in the centre of town more.

@Rainallnight I like how you think.

@Itsabitnotcold not a joke. My toddler jumped o the sofa with shit on his shoes and I have spent the evening trying to get the stain out. If I find the culprit I would happily do time.

🤢

I voted YABU, I get it, I really do, but the death penalty is a bit... harsh Grin I too have had to scrape the foul stuff from the wheels of the buggy, and blast it from the DC's shoes and sometimes they've trod it through and I've had to clean the carpet, and NO, IT IS NOT FOX SHIT. Really upsets me, it's disgusting.

I remember marvelling at this foot-long stonker of a dog turd with DC1 "it's HUGE!", we pointed it out every day till it got stepped in by someone unfortunate (hopefully the owner of the dog). I have fantasised about spotting a culprit, scooping up the still-warm turd, and smooshing it right into their face, but I'd never do that really.

RandomUsernameHere · 09/12/2022 22:35

YANBU!!!

On a totally serious note though, the penalty should be a lifetime ban from keeping dogs.

Stuckundersleepymoon · 09/12/2022 22:35

I've now got a pair of rubber gloves specially for cleaning dog turds off my pram wheels 🙄 Makes me rage.... That along with dog owners who let their dogs off a lead who don't have a good recall. If a dog isn't well trained it should be on a lead.

Clymene · 09/12/2022 22:35

Didn't we do this last week?

Bobblemymind · 09/12/2022 22:35

@MaggieFS you are right. Zero tolerance is the only way. Nothing else seems to stop these bastards.

People should clear up after their dogs.

I don't believe in the death penalty and imo it's not an issue for lighthearted jokes.

🤢

Yuk but don’t you make toddler take shoes off before entering house?

Bobblemymind · 09/12/2022 22:37

@Stuckundersleepymoon you are so right. The other day I was walking in the woods, a big dog knocked my toddler over as the owner shouted “don’t worry, he’s friendly.”

I love dogs, really love them. However to own a dog in this part of Kent it seems mandatory to be a filthy disgrace of a human.

I have to walk through a very short alleyway between houses on the way to the childminder and this morning I counted 28 discarded bags of dog shit. What person goes to the trouble of picking it up to then throw the bag in an alleyway that people have to walk through??? There are also countless smashed booze bottles and used condoms. Perhaps the same person

Bobblemymind · 09/12/2022 22:39

@momlette usually but he had got in the pram and fallen asleep. We lifted him inside, inside the pram. When he woke he ran and jumped on the sofa. Again why do I have to suffer because some dog owners are filthy?

Also in agreement with @ilovesooty death penalty is no joke.

allthelittlelights · 09/12/2022 22:40

We should bring back the pillory so they can be pelted with the stuff.

Bobblemymind · 09/12/2022 22:41

@Notaligned literally not joking. After a week of cleaning up other people’s poo I would happily watch the perpetrators burn.

Reason I don’t wear shoes in the house.

Dog shit - not okay.
Dirt, mud, vomit, piss, phlegm, blood, human excretions - all good in the hood.

I don’t get it!!

Bobblemymind · 09/12/2022 22:41

@allthelittlelights that would be even better.

Feel your pain. Was out for a wander a few weeks ago, lovely crisp air and autumn leaves everywhere - on the way home I slipped on what I thought was a wet leaf, until I looked down and saw my new white trainer was smeared in dog muck. There were lots of fallen leaves on the pavement so I didnt spot it. Ended up trying to scrape it off and dab it in a puddle before taking an old toothbrush to it when I got home because it all got stuck in the grooves of the sole. Really sours your day!

Except that it can take decades before someone who is sentenced to death actually gets executed. Imagine explaining to your now adult children that mum is going to watch someone get killed because she had to clean dog shit off their shoes when they were little.

FOJN · 09/12/2022 22:45

If I see a dog going to the loo with an owner that looks as if they're about to walk away I always helpfully point it out to them and then stand and watch until they've picked it up. I think naming and shaming on community SM pages is a good idea.

I hate lazy dog owners. Owning a dog isn't mandatory but cleaning up after them if you do own one is.

I have a dog and always pick up. I wear a head torch at night so I can find it when the little bugger decides he's shy and want to shit in the shadows.

Namechangedforthisonetoday · 09/12/2022 22:45

bobble did you start a thread about dog shit on your child’s shoe the other week?

Yes because that makes a child less scared 😅 a dog might be friendly but a lot of dogs are huge in comparison to a child.

When my baby was a week old we walked through a local park carrying her in a baby carrier, a lady had her dog off the lead, it started growling and jumping up at her. My DH had to get inbetween me and the dog. I walked away quickly. The owner had an argument with my DH and said it was my fault for moving and that's why the dog kept trying to attack me and my baby, she couldn't control the dog and as we walked away she still hadn't managed to get it on a lead. I am very wary of any dogs not on a lead now, I won't walk through the park anymore 🙄

Mochudubh · 09/12/2022 22:46

YADNBU. The scheme estate I live on is not somewhere strangers pass through, if you'll pardon the expression, and not somewhere you would travel to walk your dog. So the fuckers who leave the shit all over the place actually live round here and it's their own kids and their neighbours kids that end up standing in it. I've been a dog owner for 30 plus years and I would be black affronted to walk off and leave shit lying for my neighbours to step out n.
