To think EVRI (formerly Hermes) have lost the plot !!

Apologies for the length of the post, just need a rant !! Anyone else had experience of EVRI delivery service incompetence ? I’ve had a few issues with them over the last few months, but the last one has been utterly bewildering.

Ordered three items in pre Black Friday sales, at three different online retailers. I asked for next day delivery. Emails from EVRI on the Friday saying they had all three parcels and would advise when they were out for delivery. Then nothing until the following Monday, when they updated the app to say all three were out for delivery and gave a two hour delivery window along with tracking numbers.

Five minutes after the delivery window expired they sent an email to say that the courier had tried to deliver and we were out. The fact that I was in a room overlooking the front door and have a ring camera say otherwise. Checked the footage - nothing. I also have a long standing instruction in the app to leave parcels in the enclosed porch if no reply - the couriers generally don’t even ring the bell, they just leave the parcels in the porch. So if the courier called on Monday and got no answer why did they not leave it in the porch as instructed ?

Email advised they would try to re deliver the following day, which they did. One parcel, unrelated, left in the porch. Since then they haven’t updated the app, I don’t know where my items are and there is seemingly no way to contact EVRI by phone. I finally found a complaints procedure online and outlined the problem. Got an email back with a ‘case number’ and an assurance that they would get back to me within 48 hours. That was a week ago.

When I contacted the retailers they all reported a high number of parcels ‘going missing’ recently and even they don’t have a customer services number - they have to rely on the business app to report problems. And yet they still continue to use them !!

So, I have no idea what’s going on with EVRI and posted to see if anyone has had a similar experience, and if/how you resolved it.

The problem is that it doesn’t matter how good your delivery driver is if the parcels don’t get to them. They have problems with parcels getting lost at their hubs and local delivery depots.

Domino45 · 04/12/2022 19:06

Totally agree that it depends on the local delivery person. Our usual guy has stopped and he was amazing. I ordered a makeup item which came completely smashed and the replacement was the same, delivered by Evri. I’m sure it had been broken in delivery as the box was all damaged too. This time of year is a nightmare - one of my parcels with Royal Mail has gone missing. It puts you off trying to order online sometimes

TheseAreSexPeopleLynn · 04/12/2022 19:08

Thanks for all the info on here everyone. It's useful to hear how others have resolved or at least to get additional email addresses to try!

FuckMyLife2022 · 04/12/2022 19:12

I have mine delivered to the cobblers a few doors down now, it’s much harder for them to claim “attempted delivery” or “your item is there, look for it” etc.

This was after they claimed they’d delivered a £300 parcel to my porch. I don’t have a fucking porch. Then claimed it was left behind the bin on my front garden. Don’t have a front garden either Angry

Had a terrible experience trying to return broken goods to Amazon. The parcel was large but light. A guy from Evri turned up and said he couldn't fit it in his car. Not to worry, he said. A van would turn up to collect it in the next couple of days. Anyway - it didn't, of course. I cancelled the return and restarted it. Then closely monitored what Evri were up to.

Day one: Evri claimed to have been to the house but we weren't in. LIE.

Day two: Evri claimed to have been to the house but the packaging wasn't correct. LIE.

I know this because I was sitting in the kitchen both days waiting and watching. At no point did someone come down the steps to the door. But then a notification appeared saying they'd missed the delivery because of something we'd done.

Utter, utter shit. I wish I could complain but I don't think there's a way to do it.

In October I ordered a ton of parcels on Vinted, had trouble with the tracking updates so opened cases for all of them…eventually got a response saying that all the parcels were unaccounted for, that it was no longer their problem & I needed to contact the seller…all NINE of them which had been sent separately by nine different sellers. Thankfully Vinted refunded all of them but it baffled me that Evri just got to say they had lost 9 parcels & no repercussions. I check now before I buy anything to ensure Evri won’t be delivering it

CEO of Evri:

[email protected]

I'm in an FB group for disgruntled Evri customers. People seem to get somewhere when they email the CEO.

Just fired off an email outlining the problem, so will see what happens now. Thanks again.

I feel like I must live in a parallel universe when it comes to Evri. I've only ever had amazing service from them.

woodhill · 04/12/2022 19:40

Mine is usually very good but my parcel which was meant to come earlier In The week hasn't and apparently there was bad weather??

It was raining but why hasn't it come later in the week.

You can't speak to anyone to ask

Cosmicdreams · 04/12/2022 19:42

Evri threw my parcel over the garden fence with a picture of him holding it whilst beginning to throw it 😂. Luckily it wasn't breakable. I ordered a replacement pipe for a breastpump and it popped up delivered to post box. So had a look, it was a cut open parcel and he nabbed the pipe. God knows what he thinks it was but its put me off em. I hated hermes so finding out they're the same company makes sense.

mondaytosunday · 04/12/2022 20:01

Hermes was always by far the worst delivery service I've ever dealt with and a name change hasn't changed this.

Bayleaf25 · 04/12/2022 20:08

We currently have 4 lost deliveries with them!!!! One they’ve admitted losing and the business I ordered from is sending replacement. 2 we’ve just raised complaint for missing packages (stuck at depot apparently for 2 weeks!). And 4th one looks like missing but I’m waiting a couple more days. Oh, and actually next package also missing and they’re resending!!

Absolutely no faith in Evri whatsoever!

Coconutcream123 · 04/12/2022 20:13

Our old Evri guy was brilliant, now it's shocking. It's a shame so many retailers use them and not dpd or DHL- assume these are more expensive for them.
Only one that is worse is Yodel.

dameofdilemma · 04/12/2022 20:15

We ordered seven items from John Lewis - five were delivered by royal mail and DHL within 3-4 days.

We're still waiting for the two items Evri have had at their depot for five days. It's now been nine days since we ordered them.

The excuses have varied from 'traffic' to 'bad weather' to 'delays'.

This is on top of a lost parcel three weeks ago. And another delivery that took nearly three weeks.

Evri are far, far worse. Do complain to the retailers too.

woodhill · 04/12/2022 20:31

Ditto

That's what is happening with my parcel, it's very poor

jL are usually so good

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 04/12/2022 20:31

I don’t think anyone has got an Evri delivery for weeks in my area. Everyday there are posts after posts on our community fb pages. Someone also posted a pic of a local Evri depot full of pallets of undelivered pallets. It seems the drivers have quit, one was sent to jail for fraud, it was all over the local papers and Evri haven’t replaced and drivers.

Ive had them say they have attempted deliveries when I’ve been sat in my front room right next to the door. I’m avoiding any company that uses them now.

WordtoYoMumma · 04/12/2022 20:33

Local Evri deliveries here are excellent, never had a problem. DPD however are awful, they fuck it up every single time!!!

LadyOfTheFliessssss · 04/12/2022 20:35

Womencanlift · 04/12/2022 18:11

I would pay extra postage to have my package NOT be sent by them. Had nothing but issues (even when Hermes) and that is living in 4 different areas

I know they wouldn’t because it doesn’t make business sense, but I would love it if retailers gave the buyer the option on how they sent it to you

I would also pay extra to avoid them. I would like to actually get my parcels.

User1437957 · 04/12/2022 20:40

Our Evri guy is very good thankfully however I had arranged Evri to pick up my parcel from my friend and paid 7 £ postage and they never picked it up and never refunded. Heard about many problems with them now so try to avoid them. Horrible company don’t know how they are allowed operate

Zingy123 · 04/12/2022 20:40

I was talking to an Evri courier today. Their warehouses are chockablock. There is no way they can deliver the parcels they have now they don't have the staff. They are planning to claim off their insurance for the failed deliveries.

Wdib78 · 04/12/2022 20:44

Is this number any good?

To think EVRI (formerly Hermes) have lost the plot !!

SheWoreYellow · 04/12/2022 17:51

Our EVRI guy is fab. I think it varies on area or by person. He was apologising for the early delivery this morning (8.30am) and saying that he saw lights on, so he rang, otherwise he would have left it on our safe place. He’s great.

We are so lucky.

Our guy is great

Sandy89xx · 04/12/2022 21:17

I ordered parcel on 29th October that was due within 3 to 5 days on the 14th November I got confirmation from evri to say they had my parcel.... just over a week ago I went to the depot to be told there 72 hours behind. I went back to the depot yesterday and was told my parcel is in there somewhere and don't know if I'll recieve before Christmas. It's shocking I've spoken to the company I ordered from and they keep saying it should be by the end of this week.... I'm in the process of claiming my money back through PayPal.

TeaAndBrie · 04/12/2022 21:25

My order still says out for delivery and expected to arrive last Friday night between 7 and 9 🤦‍♀️

GG1986 · 04/12/2022 21:35

My parcel has been in their depot since 24th November and no updates since. Been told by sender to wait until 9th Decemeber and to contact them again and they will chase it! Ridiculous isn't it!
