Am I overreacting to Strep A ?

I have a three year old in nursery and 7 month old baby at home.

Both have been off nursery / crèche for going onto the third week now, as they both came down with illness around three weeks ago.

Now with the strep A thing, I'm considering staying home with both of them and avoiding crèche, nursery, softplay, play groups, play dates until the new year.

I'm on Mat leave, so I can do this. It's tough on me and I'm already exhausted, having them home all the time already for two weeks. But I am really worried about them getting really sick.

Is this OTT ?

My DD is really ill now anyway. High fever and completely out of sorts. So I guess the decision is made for me, for now.

@glugluggg so sorry to hear that. Have you been to the Dr's. Plenty fluids, ice lollies are brilliant for when they don't want to drink like my toddler atm. Sending big hugs. Never doubt yourself or your mother's intuition.

Sorry and who are you exactly, there's no black and white correct answer here. It's completely understandable to have concerns when people's children have died, yes its a very small amount and yes it's unlikely to happen to you, but your patronising and rude response doesn't do anything other than make you sound like a moron.

You don't mean my response do you North?? Confused I am very worried about it all myself.

Oh the poor thing. I hope she's feeling better soon. It's so hard to know what to do isn't it. X

Yeah I took her today. She's on antibiotics now. But fever very high and very stubborn!

Hopefully she'll recover quickly from this one and we will have a bit of peace. She's so poorly when her meds wear off, it's so sad to see her like that. My thoughts and prayers go out to all sick people. Health is everything.
