To boast about my son?

It's more of a message that I think is important to put out.

Yesterday I was in the car with my (just turned) four year old and had a seizure for the first time along with some other issues.

I felt unwell and the next thing I remember is hearing DS screaming and the police and paramedics trying to get into my car.

He used my phone to call 999 and directed them to where we were. He told them mummy was shaking, not talking and my eyes had gone white.

Yes, I am obviously incredibly proud of him but I also think this is such an important message.

He saved my life and he wouldn't have known what to do if I hadn't had taught him. So please, if you haven't already, teach your kids what to do in an emergency.Flowers

FOUR?!! Thats inredible, what an amazing little boy! Well done him and I hope you are feeling better. He deserves extra xmas treats this year.

TheNoodlesIncident · 01/12/2022 19:31

Oh bless him, what a star. It's so easy to panic and not remember what you've been told, you must have taught him well!

IaminRome · 01/12/2022 19:37

💛

Dotingmumandgranny · 01/12/2022 19:38

Daisymae55 · 01/12/2022 19:46

What an amazing child! You must be so so proud of him.

Thank you for sharing this, I’m definitely going to ensure DD knows what to do in an emergency when she’s older.

Hope you’re okay OP and again, your son is amazing!

Greydogs123 · 01/12/2022 19:48

That’s incredible - what a brave lad you have! Well done on your teaching, too, you must have taught him well that he remembered so well without panicking. Hope you’re recovered.

CombatBarbie · 01/12/2022 19:49

That is amazing, I couldn't actually speak to 999 as I was freaking out when my husband had his first seizure.

purser25 · 01/12/2022 19:49

Could you tell his school or nursery how brave he was. I hope the emergency services said what a brave boy he was.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 01/12/2022 19:51

That’s amazing, the kind of thing kids get awards for!

FusionChefGeoff · 01/12/2022 19:53

Wow

No other words just wow

Gave me goosebumps

Dreamsoffreedomjoyandpeace · 01/12/2022 19:54

That’s amazing🙂. Was just about to take your advice and then remembered that my DS is 18😆

AnotherAppleThief · 01/12/2022 19:58

That is amazing!

Can I also encourage parents to teach their teens what to do if they are a victim if crime when out and about by themselves. Many will call parents or go home first as its so instinctual, but this can lose valuable time if the crime is still in progress or just happened they should call 999 and give them the confidence to do this when alone if it is safe to do so.

Mariposista · 01/12/2022 20:01

What a wonderful brave child you have. He is a credit to you. He will be top of Santa’s nice list! Take him for a lovely big hot chocolate with all the marshmallows he wants when you’re better!

DisplayPurposesOnly · 01/12/2022 20:02

What a brave and clever boy! I hope you're OK.

Teadrinkingmumofone · 01/12/2022 20:04

He's amazing, well done him. Too right you should be proud..and well done you for teaching him. I hope you're feeling a little better now.

Mrsrasputian · 01/12/2022 20:04

Ah, that’s bloody amazing OP. What an absolute star!

SkylightSkylight · 01/12/2022 20:04

What a little ⭐️!!

it's very impressive he remembered & didn't panic. Though they tend to panic more when they're a bit older as they're more self conscious!

I hope you're doing ok.

surreygirl1987 · 01/12/2022 20:12

That's amazing! I also have a 4 year old son and there's no way he could do that! Very impressive! Glad you're okay as well.

DollieBantrysPantry · 01/12/2022 20:16

That is amazing, well done clever boy 👏👏👏👏

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 01/12/2022 20:18

What an amazing son you have. Such presence of mind when he must have been terrified. I'm proud of him and I've never even met him!

hope you're doing okay, OP. Sounds like a harrowing experience for both of you.
