The Jeremy Kyle Show. Middle class man shouts at poor people who aren’t terribly bright, for not being perfect humans. So pleased it ended.

On X Factor and BGT when they used to show ‘funny’ auditions of people who believed they had talent but really didn’t so got laughed at. They then brought them back for the final to do a humiliating routine live so they could be laughed at more.

Supernanny. Childless woman who can barely speak properly pulls lemon faces, tells parents they’re shit and Instills sudden and sharp changes in the child’s home where actual camera are focussing on them when they’re distraught and upset

Sun sea and suspicious parents. Mum and dad spying on their adult children from a rooftop in Greece whilst said child gets off with a stranger. CREEPY!

Ever so sorry I didn’t list every single grievance I have about the woman in my OP 😂

Honestly the utter desperation from some posters to pick holes is fucking pathetic

No my dear, what you are experiencing is your post being turned around back on you. Or are you more of a do as I say not as I do sort of person.

There was a smoking room in the staff room when I started teaching, in 2006! Unimaginable now- we don't even have a staff room 😂

We had a smoking room for STUDENTS in my secondary school in 2006!

People being demonised and banned from travelling because they won't agree to being injected with an untested experimental and totally pointless (unless you're CEV) drug.

People thinking that a vaccine that’s been through all stages of clinical trials is untested…

Smoking on aeroplanes and in the cinema - you came out of both absolutely stinking.

Remember coning hone on a trans Atlantic flight in the nineties andchad booked nob smoking but we were actually 1 or two rows in front of smoking so might as well have been in smoking.
Came of plane reeking of 2nd hand smoke
Once was in a restaurant in the non smoking area and people at next table started to smoke but staff just kept them.

Seems so alien now

I remember many a late Saturday night trying to sleep, alongside my sister, in the back of my dad's cortina. Both parents would be half cut from a house party but there was no drink and drive limit in the 70s/80s. We never had an accident in all those years which was a blooming miracle. All my family smoked as well (talking 70 a day) in spite of my own mild and my cousin's severe asthma. And being doused in after sun because I burned every holiday, mum said I needed to get some colour in my face...just finished treatment of a first basal cell carcinoma 🙄

The drink drive limit was introduced in 1967. The limit has remained the same ever since. It’s true it was considered much more acceptable to drive whilst over the limit, but we all knew it was there

QueenCarrot · 01/12/2022 02:24

Blimey, I think I exceeded the limit of using the word limit in a single post there ☺️

Scotland was reduced to 50 instead of 80 in 2014

In VI form there was a smoking room for students.

Then they wanted the room back as a classroom so they allowed smoking in the cloak room where your lockers and coat hooks were and there were no windows that opened.

So everyone had to go through a smoke filled room every day.

@QueenCarrot

And suddenly husbands were encouraging their wives to learn to drive.

Sending three year olds to nursery for thirty hours a week and expecting perfect behavior from them. Little children are still learning not to hit or bite, to share, take turns, and play with others. It’s going to take time.
Thongs
Wearing such short skirts, yet being annoyed that men harass you.
The idea that bright children will do well in any sort of school. It helps a lot to have a peer group who want to work hard and not act up. Not having to play unpaid tutor to other students would be wise as well.
Letting children sit at tables in school. They would concentrate better and achieve more if they sat on their own.

Sorry but your reason in your OP doesn't really focus on your disgust at the "exploitation of kids" at all

hadenoughforever · 01/12/2022 04:10

As a deaf person, I really object to that show The Undateables.

I think maybe -

men harassing women for wearing short skirts would be a better way to word it!

You might have justifiable reasons not to like the programme,. but it is obvious she is working class. That is what all the comments about her not being able to speak properly from various people here really mean.

No, she just pronounces words weird. Same as people took the piss out of nigella for saying microwaaaavveeeeey

MN is absolutely obsessed with class honestly

iloveeverykindofcat · 01/12/2022 06:08

Anything with 'Doctor Christian'. What a fucking creep. Actually celebrity doctors full stop. Doctors shouldn't be celebrities for the same reasons academics shouldn't be. Conflict of interests.

healthadvice123 · 30/11/2022 20:39

@1AngelicFruitCake because many people don't believe in discipline nowadays and call it soft parenting or whatever , rather than lazy parenting as always easier to always say yes or ignore than actually say no. Look at how schools now are so really not working

I completely agree. Tablets in restaurants, parents on phones because it’s easier.

Children ruling the roost with parents scared to upset their child.

There was a child the other day at school pick up who was in the school playground half an hour after school ended. The parent has a young baby who was crying and was desperate to go home but was waiting until their 6 year old was ready 🙄

mellongoose · 01/12/2022 06:22

People constantly saying "all politicians are on the take and don't care " and the like, then act surprised and outraged when one is murdered.

The vast majority of constituency MPs of all parties are hard working, have families who love them and are now at risk for just doing their jobs. It's acceptable on here to see them as fair game.

When one takes the piss, that one should be called out. I find it hypocritical that they are all tarred with the same brush. We wouldn't accept that of any other profession.

iloveeverykindofcat · 01/12/2022 06:41

@sashh once an older colleague who'd been at the university for decades said to me 'When I started in this office, I had my ashtray on the left, beer on the right, and my dog under the desk.'

Regarding talent shows you should read this...

Erm, that's awful for your friend but I'm not sure your friend having an RTA falls under the same category as things which shouldn't still happen....

i was referring to the fact It wouldn’t happen because seat belts are compulsory now,

They weren’t in early 1970s And most cars didn’t even have seat belts fitted.

Missedvocation · 01/12/2022 07:23

The fact that there is actually a community…?

Liz1tummypain · 30/11/2022 18:03

The show " It ain't half hot mum" . Outrageous racism. They would kick and Insult the Indians , and treated them as less worthy than any white person..

That was about 50 years ago!

The title deeds to my parents’ house, in the 1990s, reading Mr Name Surname and Wife.
