Hot brownie and ice cream comes close though I admit.

@StuckyToffeePuddingClub
DS2 would agree with you it's his current favourite and gets very excited when he gets a chance to have it.
DS1 only likes 2 puddings: apple crumble and my panettone bread&butter pudding but definitely no cream/custard/ice cream.

My favourite pudding depends on my mood but I love panettone bread & butter pudding, my sherry trifle, or a good tiramisu.

DH says YANBU. For me it has to be a souffle preferable chocolate with coconut ice cream. I'm happy with a fruit souffle too.

I make the nigella one with black treacle every Christmas and it's the absolute bomb. Really easy too.

Followed by a cheese board of course.

Here's my first attempt at a sticky toffee pud made tonight. After the photo I put on more sauce (obv) and vanilla ice cream 😋 was yum

That looks amazing. I'm envious.

@StuckyToffeePuddingClub You may want to know that Sainsburys have done a limited edition Sticky Toffee Pudding flavour granola for Christmas

I most definitely do! Thank you. I'll definitely be getting some of that.

On another note, Subway also has sticky toffee pudding cookies. I had one today and it was very nice.

I think there are many, many wonderful puddings, and I would be hard pressed to pick just one.

I do rather like the deep filled apple and cinnamon pie I make - thinly sliced Bradley’s, mixed with brown sugar and cinnamon, then piled into a bought puff pastry lined pie dish, and topped with more bought puff pastry. If I do it right, there is so much apple in the pie that the pastry will barely stretch over it. Bake until golden brown. Delicious.

PalatineHill · 27/11/2022 19:29

To the Bread and butter pudding fans- panettone hasn’t got the substance for a good BnB pud. Too soft and soggy. Try thinly sliced hot cross buns.

BaileySharp · 27/11/2022 19:29

It's one of the best puddings but I am usually swayed by the chocolate option

Brefugee · 27/11/2022 14:54

it is bread and butter pudding made by me (currently infusing some milk with cardomom and orange essence for one for tomorrow)

I had an orange and cardamom B&B pudding at a restaurant in the summer. It truly was heavenly.

I do lovely a scrummy sticky toffee pudding, but can never risk ordering one when I am out as some weirdos try to put dried fruits in them and ruin it.

I do like a treacle sponge and custard though.

Creme brulee is top of the puddings list for me though.

HomeEdRocks18 · 27/11/2022 19:30

I much prefer pear and blueberry crumble and cream

Rainbowshit · 27/11/2022 19:34

Nope. My mum's pavlova is hands down the best dessert ever.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 27/11/2022 19:36

YABU, it’s bottom three, actually bottom two, just above banoffee pie

Quisquam · 27/11/2022 19:37

Love sticky toffee pudding with cream; but it can be a bit rich! The best all round dessert is Um Ali! (Egyptian national dessert apparently)

StuckyToffeePuddingClub · 27/11/2022 19:38

Thank you for all of your pudding related opinions and recommendations. There's so many puddings that I haven't had for ages or have never tried including just some dark chocolate as a dessert. I'm going to have to try as many of them as possible.I am going to have to admit that creme brulee, Baked Alaska and perhaps a few other delights come very close to the wonder that is sticky toffee.

I love it, more sticky and treacly the better. Could eat it all day! Lidls deluxe version is pretty good if you need some and don't have time to bake.

Crankley · 27/11/2022 19:40

Nope. My favourite is home made profiteroles filled with cream to which has been added some of my favourite liqueur and chopped raspberries. Then the tops are dipped in caramel and allowed to harden.

Kidsandcat · 27/11/2022 19:45

Definitely one of my favourites along with brownie and vanilla ice cream, homemade baked cheesecake, pavlova, rice pudding, floating island, steam pudding and custard, crumble and custard, lemon merigue pie. Literally love all puddings!!

georgarina · 27/11/2022 19:47

YANBU
It's also my fav
Sainsbury's has just come out with a sticky banoffee pudding - it's a gamechanger

This is the most sensible thread I have seen on MN in some considerable time. OP is absolutely correct. Sticky toffee pudding ftw!

bluechameleon · 27/11/2022 19:55

YABU. It is apple crumble and custard. Followed by bread and butter pudding with cream. In third place is banoffee pie.

mamabear715 · 27/11/2022 19:56

OBVIOUSLY none of you poor things have ever had a black forest cheesecake..

mamabear715 · 27/11/2022 19:56

I had one once & never been able to find them again.. :-(
