I went through the same thing at the same stage after having my ds. It's not that you want ANOTHER baby, it's just you're missing the special first first days/weeks of the one you just had. And possibly even the pregnancy (you never get as much attention once they're here)

It will pass. And you can have more! There was a woman who had 67 children y'know....

....she must have had a wizards sleeve.

fingerwoman · 30/01/2008 22:53

well, i wouldn't say he was chilled exactly. he was a bloody nightmare actually- there were times when I sat sobbing "why did I want 2???"

but he is really rather scrummy now. I don't know. I enjoyeed the birth (yes, really!) and want another HB too.
and yeah, I do miss that "i've just had a baby" feeling and all the attention I guess

You~re not mad! We started trying for another one as soon as dd was born and we~ve just found out we succeeded...after 9 months! I couldn~t wait to give her a sibling. Go for it!

hatrick, do you know, I would love to be a doula-y type person for you

I already got my period back after having ds2, so I could technically get pg now. hmmmm

yes, i think i'd like a smaller gap than between these 2 (2yr 9m)
so, to get 16 months I'd need to get pg when ds2 is 7 months old, which means May. I shall pop that on the calendar lol

YANBU...tad insane perhaps....

DS nearly 5 months, love him dearly...but need a little time to (a) lose that final bit of weight once i stop bfeeding and (b) have a period of not scrutinising everything that passes my lips....

dosydot · 31/01/2008 10:52

yanbu but a little mad, i was pg when dd was nearly 5 months - planned by blatantly not using contraception except exclusively bf.
I found it really hard as i had to have cs and was 3 days from dd who was only 13 months. but if you are going for a homebirth then go for it. just remember your ds2 may not yet be walking when lo arrives .

Marne · 31/01/2008 10:55

I wanted another the day after having dd2 and sobbed for days as dh and i agreed before having her that she would be the last. I love being pg and giving birth . Dd2 is now 23 months and we are trying for no3 (i talked dh around to the idea) .

chrissnow · 31/01/2008 10:56

yanbu I was already pg again when dd was 3 months.

Mind you I'm knackered now!!!!!
