Fish finger party at mine. I'll get us an Asda own brand 30 pack each and a pack of potato waffles while I'm at it.

My god. Potato waffles!!!!!

Anne8850 · 17/11/2022 18:54

Lol my two teenage boys share a pack of 20 between them!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 17/11/2022 18:54

Fish fingers and soup 😱

But only half a tin. Any more is fuelling the obesity crisis.

About 250 calories per fish finger, so 4 would be 1,000 cslories, plus chips and beans and you are up to an adult daily recommended intake.

I have 4

It's 236 calories per 4 Birdseye finger. Less than 60 calories a finger.

Zanatdy · 17/11/2022 18:54

I’d have 3 max

PortalooSunset · 17/11/2022 18:55

I usually have 3, dh 4 and 18yo dc 5. So on average 4!

MayISuggestSomeThickCutSteakChipsToGoWithThat · 17/11/2022 18:55

Five plus chips and mushy peas or beans

WeWereInParis · 17/11/2022 18:55

IlleIllaIllud · 17/11/2022 18:47

And what about sausages, while we're at it? If chips and beans are involved, I'd say two of those, too. 1.5 if they're very fat ones. Or possibly 3 if they're chipolatas.

I would have two sausages with chips and beans.

I'd also just have two fish fingers. Not sure why, since two sausages is obviously a bigger meal than two fish fingers.

You. I want to party with you.

I'm in too. I'll bring gin 🙌🙌🙌

CaptainMyCaptain · 17/11/2022 18:56

I'd have 3.

MinnieMountain · 17/11/2022 18:56

@@NotQuiteUsual can they be the Asda waffles with carrot in so we don’t need any veg?

cookiecreammmpie · 17/11/2022 18:57

I only ever do fish fingers for the kids' tea, DH and I wouldn't have that for a meal. I occasionally have them on a sandwich for lunch and would have 3 or 4.

Januarytoes · 17/11/2022 18:57

I have two.
With beans, buttered bread, or potato waffles. ketchup. Strong tea. Yum

Fish fingers are about 60 cals each, they are the dieters friend

TwoRockSalmonAndAHaporthOfChips · 17/11/2022 18:57

Five. I am about to have them in a sandwich for my dinner, with watercress and mayo.

May I join the gluttony party? I’ll bring a Vienetta for afters.

monsteronahill · 17/11/2022 18:57

6-8 for us 😂

DinosApple · 17/11/2022 18:58

3 is the standard portion in primary school from age 4 upwards.

It really isn't a lot. And from how squeezed school food budgets are, it really would be cut if it was considered too much.

At home I'd eat 4 or 5 if I ate them, DH would eat 8.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/11/2022 18:59

5 is what I have when dh is away and I’m treating myself to FFs. But that’s with no chips or other potatoes, probably just baked beans.

YellowTreeHouse · 17/11/2022 18:59

Boooooot · 17/11/2022 18:21

I genuinely don’t believe a grown ass adult would only have two.

I only have two. I don’t need anymore 🤷‍♀️

WeDontNeedToTalkAboutJamie · 17/11/2022 18:59

Depends how big the fish fingers are surely. Last time I cooked some we didn't have enough fish portions for everyone, and didn't have enough fish fingers for everyone. So I cooked both. 5 fish fingers were roughly the same size as the fish portions, so I guess 5.

Having said that I left the teens to cook their own one evening as I went out. Got a WhatsApp asking how many they sold cook from the box of 30. I replied something like "I usually do 5 or 6 each, so however many you think". Ie 5 or 6 each. No. They cooked (and ate) all 30.

ellieboolou · 17/11/2022 19:00

Kids have always had 3 but now my eldest is 10 she'll have 4 sometimes 5
I'll have 5-6, same as husband

Macdonalds happy meals offer 3 for children, if an adult served me 3 I'd think they were competitive under eaters or tight 🤣

Tinytigertail · 17/11/2022 19:00

3 for an adult and 2 for a child in my house. Looks like I've been under fish fingering!

Thinkbiglittleone · 17/11/2022 19:00

I would put 4 maybe 5 on my plate, but I'm eating 2 as I'm dishing up. They are so moorish and not packed with calories.I could easily eat a pack of 10, Just on a plate with sauce for dipping.

You can fit 5 on a sandwich with some tomatoe or tartar sauce. This is making me crave a fish finger butty now

AnApparitionQuipped · 17/11/2022 19:01

It depends what I'm having with them. Anything from 2 - 5 fingers.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 17/11/2022 19:01

Gymrabbit · 17/11/2022 18:18

With chips and beans I’d have 3 and I’m both overweight and a bit piggy.

anymore is massively greedy.

Well you obviously eat more than your body needs so why be so judgemental about a relatively healthy food that others enjoy?

I can't stand posters who use terms like 'greedy' about something so subjective and such a non-issue.
